USB Cirque Touchpad and midi?

I tried running an external Cirque SmartCat model GDU410 USB touchpad on my PC with the savihost.exe standalone version of Touchpad2Midi and it doesnt work.

When you engage the CapsLock, the app crashes in fact.

I noticed Touchpad2Midi is only supposed to work with a laptop that has a synaptic touchpad built in. Is there anyway for support of an external USB touchpad with this app. Or are there any other apps out there that let you use an external USB touchpad?

There are three touchpad manufacturers that I know of: Synaptics, Alps and Cirque / Adesso. Each have their own driver technology and require seperate attention.

Touchpad 2 MIDI currently supports synaptics only - it was the most accesible API, and my laptop has Synaptics hardware.

Alps support will be added, but so far I'm not sure about cirque - if it's at all possible it's very likely to be added in a future update.

yeah! Ive tried with my local synaptics and this thing rocks!! thanks,*

but i bought a cheap cirque external ps2 , no way :
the mouse driver is in relative way, it should be in absolute maped to screen, so we could draw virtual xy pad

anyway that rocks, keep on !!!
