Whew, I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I ran it through some filters and then it snounded like...um....filtered drums.peppy197 wrote:It sounded like drumsnapalmbob wrote:For a laugh/inspiration run the midi's through a drums-only soundfont. Trust me, I'm a scientist...

Fine. Don't run the midi's through a drums-only soundfont, because they will sound like drums.
I meant the rhythm of the tracks sounds interesting when you do.
What were you expecting, the hand of God to reach down and inspire a song so magnificent and awe-inspiring it will be the global number one for the next 10000 years?

No, I was expecting to hear drums, lots and lots of drums.
Especially with tracks from file #2.

Ok, the first one is cheesy mtv, the second loony runaway, the third Rosamunde, witch smells pfanni and the fourth is an exercise in how to quantize to death.
When Liqih did his midi-file thread, he only gave two single files and the result was a variety of good music. Now we have four completely different s(co)oups....buen provecho!

I completly forgot to post this.
Thanks to all of you that provided a midi file for this contest.
Sorry that I couldnt use all of them
I actually had alot to choose from.
The first three files were picked specifically for what they had to offer.
File1 - It was simple and harmonic. Smooth and easy flowing. I thought this would be a good file for the people that like to do ambient, and the like, as well as other forms of music. I also thought this would be a good piece for the vocalists in the crowd. This was actually a collab that I did with Mario, about a year ago. For that, I personally will not use this file for the contest
File2 - Malice X, There was so much wild and wachy shit going on here, how could I not ues it. I tought it would be great for disection. No insult intened Malice.
File3 - There was a specific group of people I targeted this one at. I think Shushi will do fine with this
File4 - In retrospect, I think I could have made a better bits and pieces file. But there's enough there.
Have fun folks!
