you mean resample a loop the KP is already playing? Just as easy as sampling, actually. The sample button when shifted is the 'resample' button, everything else is the same.
Press a button to initiate (re)sampling, select a pad to assign the sample to, then hit the sample button again to finish sampling (and thus create a 1-shot sample) or let it finish and create a loop. If you sample you get the (pad-processed) input signal, if you resample you get the (pad-processed) sample pad playback...

no, i mean having the sequencer(ie: cubase) play on one computer, routing that signal through to the kp3, mangling realtime and having the signal out of the kp3 going into computer 2 with (ie: cubase) running and capturing your 'performance'...so is the audio quality good, can you get good effects, time synced? ummm, is it easy to plug and play that way?

thanks.

Ah right. Not actually had a play with it in conjunction with my sequencer yet, really. I moved house a few months ago, and Im still only putting my studio bits back together slowly. Cant imagine any problems using it in a send/return loop if you've got the IO. The audio quality is fine, and Im particularly fond of some of the granular effects.

hmmm, i guess also i am wondering if i will be paying for overkill if all i wanna do is mangle...also looking at the mini kp...how is that one for teh mangle?

I was disappointed with the KP3. The new loop sampling stuff and the granular effects are great but the rest of the effects don't sound much improved from the KP2. I don't know how much effort, if any, they put into the stock effects this time but they still sound thin & plastic like the KP2. I returned mine.

I'm going through all of this guys vids right now, he's made 6 or 7 of them and all though they don't answer all of my questions they are good for catching the workflow of the thing. I'm trying to learn everything I can about it I just picked up one last night and haven't taken it out of the box yet.

W.R. is it possible to resample right back to the pad that has your source sample on it i guess resample-in-place? that would really be cool if it could, anyway here's the vids

kuniklo- how thin and plasticy? like real bad, or just running it through a preamp could fix?

I guess this is going to come down to personal taste & the style in which you want to use it. Lately I've been working with relatively simple but rich sounds and it seemed kind of self-defeating to run a really thick analog lead or something through this thing. I didn't think I could get the sounds I wanted out of it with any amount of dressing up.

those videos are cool, but judging the sound is impossible, the mic from whatever is recording video can color sound, etc....

Yup.

pretty solid. the buttons are all those rubbery squishy ones, but they're responsive enough.
