Unzip the color you want to use and place the .aqi file thats inside in the PolyAna folder. There's also a readme file in the zip. I assume you can only have one .aqi file installed at a time but perhaps that's incorrect.Hellbilly wrote: Btw, where do i change skin color again?

1.0 is up and I'm going to go collapse now. I'll make a proper post tomorrow, probably start a new thread, but for now I need to get some sleep!
http://www.admiralquality.com/download/ ... t=Poly-Ana
What's new in Poly-Ana v1.00:
- Evaluation Reset! If you already tried it in Beta you can try it again for another free week!
- Rearranged presets and added 58 new, for a complete bank of 128 presets. More soundbanks will be made available soon on our site, FREE!
- Changed Auth box text prompt
- Fixed program name not updating on host when program or bank loaded
- Fixed .pap and .pab program loading problems with patches saved from non-compliant hosts with >24 character names
- Moved Auth dialog into resume function to prevent crashes, hung audio drivers, when loading projects in some hosts while Poly-Ana is unauthorized
- Added file overwrite confirmation to program and bank file save dialogs
- Fixed "short circuit" bug between Env2->Env3
I think you'll like the new presets. It was a lot of fun making them. A couple of the user contributed sounds were included too. Sorry I wasn't able to credit everybody in the program names, but you know who you are.
And those new fixes make patch management a LOT easier. The Env 3 bug has been a nagging issue too and I think that's the last of it. I think it's gone so long without being noticed as it's rare to even need to use Env 3.
Goodnight. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

Now when is the hardware version coming out? At least let's have a controller made with one to one controls. Wouldn't that be awesome? One to one sync between the hardware and software control settings. Ok, I'm dreaming. A bit polyannish.

Why does the sound get so much brighter (harmonics are added?) when I enable oversampling? The higher the oversampling, the brighter the sound, and the difference between no OS and 8x OS is dramatic.
“Somebody said to me, ‘But the Beatles were antimaterialistic.’ That’s a huge myth. John and I literally used to sit down and say, ‘Now, let’s write a swimming pool.’ ”

Each skin is about 1 MB in size, there's 6 right now and more will be coming soon, so we don't include them in the product. I leave it to the users to download the alt background(s) separately if they want them.Hellbilly wrote: I guess i just assumed you could change skins through the Options menu.
(Speaking of the backgrounds, new ones without the old Beta version numbers will be posted in the next few days.)
jivamukti, yes the oversampling affects the filter cutoff frequency a bit (actually it affects the filter tracking of the keyboard pitch, tracking is more accurate at higher OS ratios.)jivamukti wrote:Why does the sound get so much brighter (harmonics are added?) when I enable oversampling? Note that the oversampling quality setting is saved PER program. So fine-adjust your filter cutoffs according to which OS setting you're using for that particular patch. If you change the OS setting on a patch, yes you may need some minor adjustment of the filter cutoffs to match exactly what you had before.
I wouldn't call the shift "dramatic", but yes it's noticeable. Even more of a concern is that the filter tracking is only really playable at the 4X and 8X rates. Self-resonating filter based sounds don't stay in tune across the keyboard at the lower OS ratios. Have been looking at a way to correct for the tracking at lower quality settings but it's been elusive so far. Still, this feature probably will make it into the product someday (if so, it'll be an option so we don't break any existing patches.)
*******
Any problems with the 1.0 release folks? How are you liking the new sounds? Now that the price has almost doubled, do you think I'll ever sell another copy?
And thanks again to everyone who bought Poly-Ana during the Beta period, couldn't have made it to here without you. One thing I've learned about marketing over this last week, sales jump dramatically just before the price doubled. Went from a trickle to a level of almost-viablity over these last few days. So obviously if I double the price every 2 days that will serve to maximize sales....

If we've got the beta version on our computer paid for and authorized, to install this version 1, do we need to uninstall the previous authorized beta or do we just install the demo version and if we have already bought it and had it authorized as a beta version, will the demo just install as a full authorized version on top of the older beta version?

I get asked this a lot actually. People expect problems I guess. But nope, no need to uninstall or re-authorize. Just run the new installer and you're good to go.calex wrote:If we've got the beta version on our computer paid for and authorized, to install this version 1, do we need to uninstall the previous authorized beta or do we just install the demo version and if we have already bought it and had it authorized as a beta version, will the demo just install as a full authorized version on top of the older beta version?
Poly-Ana installs "over" any previous versions and your authorization data will not change. Uninstalling will always uninstall whatever version you last had (any new files you created are not deleted). You can even go back and install an earlier version of Poly-Ana (I'd recommend everyone keep their old installers. Just in case.)
The .DLL filenames and the VST ID are the same for all versions of Poly-Ana as well, so your hosts will always use whatever version is currently installed regardless of which version you used when you created the project.

So the authorization stays valid even if you uninstall the program - yes or no on that? Better put, if you uninstall, would you need to then re-authorize the program? I can't recall if it's a reg file or a code which I guess is linked to the CPU ID or something like that. If so, I guess once you have the file or the code, as long as you are on the same computer, it would work no matter what uninstall and re-install has been done. Is that right?
