audio on a PDA?

I need to upgrade my phone to a PDA handset for work. Noticed a couple of softsynth/audio seq-type apps for PDAs and I'm wondering if anyone's had any experience with this sort of thing? If so, which apps and (more importantly) which phone would you recommend?

I figure if I have to carry one of these devices around I might as well be able to have some fun with it

Hmm which phone is hard to say but I have audio apps running on my Treos 650 and 700w..
If your going to get a palm phone, I would suggest buying
WaveEdit Pro
And
chocopoolp's Bhajis Loops
..

If you are going to get a Windows Mobile or Pocket PC phone(I think there the same thing BUT YOU SHOULD CHECK) there are actually quite a few apps avalible..

I saw one for Win Moble that was a serious audio recording software. It had an external soundcard and the ability to record @ 96/32.. Cant remember the name now.. I will post it if I can remember..

i have an 02 xda exec, great phone and pda, fast cpu also, fairly decen sound but no mic input. Pricey but good
