It just looks like I blew a whole evening after "my" visit to the fair for nothing.

Next year I'll just wank over the new stuff and keep my mouth shut while saying "you want news? Grab the next nearest magazine that covers the Musikmesse" - simpler, no stress at all. Well, I got "my" informations after all.

Huh? Noone said anything disparaging about your overview of Musikmesse or tried to belittle it any way. Quite the contrary, considering that thread went on for 4+ pages, I would say it was a success. This was just another style of presentation by a different individual. I think diversity provides a more well rounded perspective of the event. You "blew a whole evening" on your own accord. Don't try to make us feel guilty about that time spent. Most all of us donate our time to these forums unconditionally. We do it because we like to share and discuss knowledge with our fellow music technology friends. Since when were you put in any kind of official charge of how Musikmesse coverage should be presented and consolidated? Your responses in this thread strike me as unbelievably childish and pouty for someone I assume to be a fully grown adult. :sigh:

Yeah, that seemed an odd outburst - am I supposed to like your report more than anyone elses?

I enjoy all post-show feedback (words, pictures, videos) from people as I can't be there and I'm glad you took the time to post it, but if the reason you did it is to get karma points or out-do anyone else, then, well...

So the guy started a new thread - big deal. It's not like people aren't allowed to start new threads...

I'm just saying that I don't understand why it couldn't have been put into one with the same context.

It's funny though - people go haywire on 5+ different threads about a new VSTi that's coming out, but they're fine with like 5 different coverages about the same topic, in different threads, while the other ones, with probably more content, slowly drop off the boarrds.

It's no competition thing, it's a thing about having a certain order and clarity on webboards. But maybe it's just me.

Zebra was one of the three fattest things i heard there and in terms of versatility it's got the edge on all the competition, love it. Most of the other stuff that cool was either not working properly yet or really expensive hardware.

For all the independent developers we are thinking about doing a superbooth for VSTs similar to the analog synth superbooth (but maybe not as earsplittingly dull). Everyone who signed up would get a small slice of the stand to exhibit their produce on. We could also club together for a large banner with all our logos and do a demo disk, making savings for the bulk purchasing power. We'd probably also have a little space with a table hidden away somewhere for chatting to the suits.

Too early for any details yet, but bear it in mind for next year.

I'm not a developer but merely a customer, but I find this to be a nice idea. I think I missed quite some of the smaller developers this year, just because they seemed to be hidden between whatever larger booths.

And while we're at it, may I strongly recommend larger headphone stations, such as, say, one of those Behringer HP amps with 8 outs connected to each workstation? And then get a few pairs of closed headphones with you as well.
If anything, the constant noise all around has made me not enjoy a lot of things that probably would've been enjoyable.
In a perfect scenario, cable a little mixer in as well, so one could even connect a mic and do some mini demonstrations.

The new EastWest engine looks impressive : Play 64 bit. Does this mean it's only useable in Vista 64 bit ?
