Nord Wave for G2 possible?

Is it just me, or is anyone else with a G2 hoping that Clavia update the software to support the new oscillator stuff in the Wave?
Anyone know how likely it is that they'd do it? (even if its not for wavetables as large as the Wave can manage)

Yep - but isn't the lack of built in sample memory the problem? More likely in a hardware update - G3 Modular, I suspect.

Well, there's delay modules so there's some memory onboard.
Just checked the manual PDF and the longest delay is 2.7 seconds, (and that uses 98% of the memory the demo emulator has) so thats at least some that could be used for a wavetable. Thats about 700Kb per slot aint it (2.7s, 96Khz, 24 bit?)

Actually, the G2 does already have two wavetable osc's dat can be modulated. They've got a very nice sound. No possibility of importing samples though.

which oscs are you thinking of? OscShpA and OscShpB ? They're more waveshaping than wavetable, aint they?Marc JX8P wrote:Actually, the G2 does already have two wavetable osc's dat can be modulated. They've got a very nice sound. No possibility of importing samples though.

Err - yes, you're right. I stand corrected.

As much as that? Oooh bugger then.cYrus wrote:the nord wave has around 300MB memory.. so it's not that small

A G3, with added memory and the ability to run the unit as a plugin, would be very very nice.

Yep - they must have something like that in the pipeline - I was hoping they would announce it this year's Messe but maybe later this year? G2 is getting a bit old now though still great.
As well as samples it would also be nice if it could load IRs -I already use it as much as a hardware fx processor as a synth and being able to use convolution based fx would be awesome.
