ahhhha! ok, this is where my confusion lies. i already have sampletank, so i wanted *just* V2 without sampletank le, which was an option the buyer had with the first volume of "squids trons," but i CANNOT *just* get that, right? i have to buy sampletron to get the sounds of V2? i'm not talking about reason or kontact or anything. just the "squids tron V2 sounds."Squids wrote:
If you just want the sounds for Reason, Kontakt or other samplers you mean? There will not be a SampleTank version of Squids Tron 2 because there is no more SampleTank 2 LE. In fact, Squids Tron 1 will be going away soon and there will only be SampleTron (and maybe a bonus disc with the rest of Squids Tron 1) for SampleTank format (SampleTron can also be used as a library for SampleTank as well... covering both a library and a plug-in in one).
ETA for the other stuff... not sure. Later this year.
and if that's the case how much will sampletron be to owners of "squids tron V1" then? and if i have to buy sampletron to get the V2 sounds, how much of the V1 sounds, which i already have, be in sampletank? you see my concern there? i'm worried i'm paying for something i already have. am i mistaken perhaps?
thanks for answering my questions...

Don't know the exact amount but the value will be for the NEW things, not for what you have. So the software and the new sounds. More info to follow.kjcoral wrote:ahhhha! ok, this is where my confusion lies. i already have sampletank, so i wanted *just* V2 without sampletank le, which was an option the buyer had with the first volume of "squids trons," but i CANNOT *just* get that, right? i have to buy sampletron to get the sounds of V2? i'm not talking about reason or kontact or anything. just the "squids tron V2 sounds."Squids wrote:

Squids - there are a few more pics of John and the Tron here:

Even though it was categorized as a "Quirky" sound in STCV1, I really hope the Chamberlin piano makes it into SampleTron. It's one of my favorites.

Well, remember that we'll also make sure SampleTron can play everyone's Squids Tron sounds as well though if you have it. But, some of those Quirky ones will make it in anyway.SometimesNothing wrote:Squids - there are a few more pics of John and the Tron here:

ok, cool. more info will be most welcome. since i have sampletank already can you tell me at this time if sampletron will be an improvement in a software sense over sampletank? like extra features or improvements?Squids wrote:

If you have the full SampleTank then you can upgrade to 2.5 for free so in that case ST2.5 is more powerful than any of the Sonik Instruments' software. But, the advantages of the individual software are that it has it's own reference which allows you to put the sounds in a different spot on your HD's (internal or external) than the rest of your ST sounds which is also faster for the databasing part (the more sounds you have in your STInstruments folder the longer it takes to load up and relist).kjcoral wrote:ok, cool. more info will be most welcome. since i have sampletank already can you tell me at this time if sampletron will be an improvement in a software sense over sampletank? like extra features or improvements?Squids wrote:

Also the aesthetic of it...
But, really, Squids Tron users got ST2 LE and in that case it is a big improvement in software such as more editability, effects routing and selection, UB support, standalone and other.
Regardless, as the Geek that drinks Beer has said, we will make it fair. I am sure that anyone who bought both their Squids Tron AND SampleTank upgrade at esoundz can get an extra esoundz discount on top (if their membership level and crossgrade discount doesn't take care of that enough already).

Oh yeah, I forgot you said that earlier. Technically then, that should include the JB Harmonium and the toy piano which were part of Squids Tron V1, right? (pretty please, with sugar on top!)Squids wrote:Well, remember that we'll also make sure SampleTron can play everyone's Squids Tron sounds as well though if you have it. No, just a couple of those instruments will be included. The "off the deep end" list of instruments will be featured on a title called "Squids Rare Instrument Collection" that we'll have a group buy on some time soon. It will be a separate thing. Cymbalet, Claviola, Baldwin Harpsichord and all sorts of unusual instruments.

Is my immortal soul worth enough to cover paying for SampleTron, a Sampletank engine upgrade, and the Squids Rare Instrument Collection?Squids wrote:No, just a couple of those instruments will be included. PS - I hear Rami Jaffee has been clearing out some of his old gear on Ebay, including some keyboards (perhaps a funky cheesy organ or two).

I know Rami. I was rehearsing at the same hall the Wallflowers were and I remember seeing a cut down B3 in his set up. He loves Optigans too. I think he uses our software... I forget. I only met him a few times. Nice guy though. Vintage gear on ebay is always fun... even if I don't buy much of that these days. Too pricey. Samples and plug-ins are cheaper.

Rami's a good guy. I know him through a mutual friend. I almost had him playing keys on my last album, but we couldn't get the timing worked out. He was about to hit the road with the Wallflowers and I needed to have the record done before he was going to be back.Squids wrote:I know Rami. As for the Ebay stuff his friend is selling for him - there's a Maestro Universal Synthesizer System (he used it on a Macy Gray record), an Audion Consolette, a Univox Compac 2 electric piano that Ethan Johns gave him, a Whitehall organ, some oil-can delays, and other effects.
