Its not actually crap.

It works wonderfully with Reason, saving me loads of time with set up, and considering how few differences there are between my project layouts in FL there isn't much trouble for me to set up templates and configure to use the remote through MIDI.

As a standard MIDI device, its excellent. Great keyresponse. Good feel to the knobs and sliders. And it looks nice too boot.

The AutoMap Mixer function is amazing (I loaded the FL sysex file included with FL7 and it operates as meant), and even though Universal doesn't seem to want to, I'm sure it will in some future update. And if it doesnt? So what. I wanted this thing long before I heard of AMU

OK so I've just got a 61SL, and the controls are all working fine for VSTis in Cubase SX3, but how the bloody hell do I get the thing to control the mixer in cubase? All the manual seems to say is press the button on the left by the drum pads, but this doesn't work for me, all I see is the VSTis that are loaded in the left hand LCD screen. Please help!

And sometimes the record button (transport control) stops functioning but all the rest are fine, anyone know why?

Cubase SX3 worked great (along with Tracktion 3,FL7, Live 6) last time I checked. Will look at it tonight and let you know.
