What or who is a DOA? But yeah, excellent plug-ins.

not be a brickwall, but a waveshaper
... clipper, peakstop, spannungs-begrenzer ... waveshaper seems more or less dsp term, too. But ya, in same ballpark yet diff. flavors.

It's mind:boggling how many diff. terms sprung out of similar processes ... softsat, hardclip, brickwall, peakstop, vintage analog warmth (that could be a brand name for nerdy winter sweaters).

Brok thinks there should be a brickwall limiter at the end of (most? all?) compressors, to catch overs and to emulate hardware?
no thats what kingston implies into my posts. i _never_ said that, at least not _this_ way.
Kingston wrote:I still HEAVILY disagree with your reasoning behind it (why it apparently should be everywhere)
which again shows that you ignore my posts, as i _never_ stated that it has to be used everywhere.
i just like the possibility that it's there, _when_ needed ...
this is what i've said, very, very simplified ...
we had another thread going on about this, where i explained why this is so necessary ... he just doesn't understand this way of working ... maybe it depends on the musicstyle one does, as kingston already said right:
it's a prefereance ...

Kingston thinks that's unecessary and is not what hardware does.

Is that correct?
something along those lines. I'm obviously never going to "get it" so yeah. pointless.

anyway. some bloody awesome compressor this new one eh? :D

This one is magic :love: Thanks Daniel :tu:

updated! (version 1.1)

Fixed a denormal issue in 'soft' mode
+ managed to get a more stable release curve in soft mode. (faster release right after a limited peak)

(I know that you shouldn't mess around with the algos once released but this I felt was just for the better... hope Kingston won't break my balls... :( )

//Daniel :)

ddummers's back? Wonderful. I'm sure this'll be a good 'un as usual.

Many thanks Daniel. :love:

this thing bashes hella hard! great forced pump. Soundwise it seems to fit in the old TOW compressor ballpark, but everything is improved and the sounds stand up to anything.

Daniel, I can't seem to detect a whole lot of difference with the sound between different sample rates so whatever you did or didn't do with the scaling doesn't seem to matter so dramatically. (not even close to as much as with saturated driver) :)

what's up with these friggin' awesome plugins coming out these days? we never had it this good.

Post

Did you try the update and soft mode? sounds too different?

//Daniel :)

Post

yeah got the update. I wasn't too familiar with the sound of the plugin yet so I couldn't tell whether there was a big difference to the first release. still sounds great.

good enough for me!
