I think you took "dream vst" very literally. The Chase wrote:Reaktor's sound quality is top notch if you know what you're doing.
My dream VST is a software/hardware hybrid via USB that would take brain surgery. The hardware part wouldn't be much more then a massive DSP station and a jack (USB or some kind of digital connector) that you jack into your cranium. It would have one mode where it would simply output sounds that you imagine, but it would also have another mode where you would basically enter an alternate reality matrix (Not much like one in The Matrix but more like the one in Neuromancer) and you would suddenly appear in the magic studio of your dreams, where the sound you make in it is beamed out to your computer via USB.
In that case my dream vst would also hardwire into my head providing me with something similar to star trek's "hollo deck"
from there I would load any simulation I want, any instrument, played by any musician, from any planet, a ridiculously hot secretary would act as the recording device righting everything down legibly via her tongue onto paper? no, platinum records...all previously labeled with my name on them.
I would also invent a new form of distortion, the sounds produced would be conducted via a chain of high school students playing broken telephone the first we can name "input 1" and the last we can call "output".
I would load up the Swiss alps for my echoes and a room full of half full wine glass's for reverbs, I would have one of those remote controls from the movie click to substitute the transport panel…. also no dream vst would be complete without a happy ending, if u know what I mean.
But if I cant have that im content with "notation space invaders".(see first post)
