Beardedone - On The Road -> #1 - A lovely palette of sounds here. I really liked the lead sounds, especially between 0:15 and 0:30. Nice feel.

Technical note: looks like it's encoded at 192kbps.

Thanks EV! I was not sure about this at all. I though I might have been subjecting the original to something unnatural. Glad you liked it. I'll check the encoding

Cheers,
Gordon

If you want to hear a midi track subjected to something unnatural, you'll have to listen to my entry. :hihi: Yours sounds too good for that.

spirulence - On A Road With Sounds -> #1 - A nicely energetic rendition; the build-up from 0:19 to 0:49 is really strong. Nice changing-of-pace, good overall feel.

With 1 day of delay (typical "Murphy's law" situation : I wanted to load them up last evening, when my father phoned; receiving a PM for Liqih, answering it and then it was high time to start making the eggrolls... ), some more reviews :

hush - Tumblin down : B52's. Hush with his brothers and sisters at their best, excellent ! (stop telling around it's your sister singing and send back my Tanga-girls) :hihi:

jonnyquest - Midifour : 4 guitars and a midi file (?), funny and I like it. 8)

Beardedone - On the road : A touch of "The never ending story". (how many times did you have to see it ?) ...and I like it (at 192kbps or not).

core - Off the road : Delicate; another beautiful version ! :-o (Scoops if you start running now, you'll have a chance we can't get you; the tar is ready, we're just waiting for the feathers... )

Ixox - A celle qui est trop gaie : Through your singing, French gets a flavour of "très simpa". Sa me plais. Sa plane pour moi. (ment to be compliments, but if they result to be insults, then my French got worse than I thought... ).

sttjelle - Fuel trip : An understatement : You are just bloody good !!! I wish I had you playing in my bands... If you don't appear in a top-10 of mine, it's because I want others to give a chance too. I'm a fan...

Hovmod - Fun fair : Hov, this is unfair ! Using sounds of kids to melt my (grandfather's) heart ! Your song makes me think of me and my granddaughter on the beach... surrounded by all those tanga-girls... :help:

Bad news for me : some submissions I liked a bit less before; now I like them more and more...
You can also make long versions of the "same" songs, pasting them; similar to a "symphony"...
Scoops this month's theme went right into the bull's eye ! :D

OK, now downloading more of these goodies...

See ya soon,

Thanks Max for the kind words.

Some of my thoughts:

Emerald Tablet - Story
Lovely track, great work on the midi. Great instruments used and sweet vocals. Just one minor thing, the vocals sound a bit distorted on the louder parts (like around the 1 minute mark). I noticed this in other tracks you did as well, don't know if this is intentional in your setup but don't like it. Love the dreamy lead solo in the second part, very catchy.

Gag3 - 9/11 Roll Out the Barrell
If it was your objective to make my stomach turn you've done well.

Patrick9 - Barrelhouse
Sounds a bit crazy happy. Cool mix of styles, although hearing the happy hardcore type beat brings back some bad memories heh.

SHUSH - Tumblin Down
Superb track, great vocals, lovely choir and great instrumentation. Could use a bit more "light" in the mix for me, maybe it's just the guitar sound.

Echo Voodoo - A polka list now
Wait a minute, is there no Mello in this? I was just casually listening to some tracks and it wasn't until I heard Mello's entry that I realized I thought this track was his ;-)

Sttjelle - Fueltrip
Has a lot of fuel, really feels energetic. Lovely choice of instrumentation, great job!

Farlukar - Remote Commander
Like the percussion lots, all the elements work well together.

Hovmod - Funfair
Love it, this reminds me of a track by Swell.

Lubi - In The Chambers at Night
Back to the farm! Great vibe, like it!

Hellbilly - Pollyanna
Fresh! Very catchy sounds, great beat, cool break. Keeper!

Max el Belga - Mad Midi
Played this one right after MaliceX's version, so yours sounds a bit tame :D
I like what you did with the tempo change and there are some great sounds in there + well mixed. Just leave those vocal samples out, no need the swear!

Mmichalski59 - They Fly To Heaven
Very nice and clean sound, great use of instruments. Great version of this song.

Mellotronaut - Why Rosamunde Died
Reminds me of old Nick Cave stuff. The end is what caught my attention the most, it's so dramatic. Very haunting!

MaliceX - Ambiguous Decision to Kill ~weird shortversion~
I can hear you like Aphex type stuff. Cool beats and this song makes we wish I check all four midi files before picking one heh.

scotthagel - Barrelbuster
Cool arcade type sound. Let's dance!

Jonny Quest - MIDI Four
Your guitar sounds so nice. Got a live feeling to it, love the choir sound and the guitar rocks. Great job!

Ixox - A celle qui est trop gaie
Love the instruments, the guitar and bass combination sounds excellent. Good sparse percussion and lovely vocals. Well done Xavier!

I love their music!

core, tx for listening; I'm afraid my sence of humor pushes me to include something "funny" into serious "things". (balance)
Swearing (?), in fact just words, often more used than others in daily life (mostly without offensive intentions, but rather as an "emotional support" to the rest of the words).
I just like those little samples, 'cose they're pronounced in such a funny way; for me they're just sounds... :D

REVIEW :
Spirulence - On a road with sounds : This is the "happy" part of my File #1 Symphony (when it is finished you can get it at the price of 3 smiles). Another fine version !

BTW, I nearly found back an old song of mine with that same little fascinating chord/bass progression (in file#1). It seemed to be so familiar to me. :D
BTW2, I can't download the songs hosted at Kara-Moon with the MS-IE, but no troubles if I use Firefox. 8)

Max... .. . :P

PS : Scoops, stop running 'cose I've cancelled the Tar&Feather project; I just had a little accident... First I fell into the tar container and then, because I couldn't see a da.. thing, I fell into the feathers... :help: :-o
Now my wife is cleaning me with petrol; I need a smoke... :o:shock:
