A mac or a receptorised version ?

After reading some of the overall critiques pointing at the weak points of much of the big softsamplers on the market ( HALion, Kontakt, Independance, ...) that are probably relevant at many aspects, i actually regret there doesn'r seems another version of directwave than the pc one
I assume also that it would make sense for a small company to developp a fully compatible receptor version
Well, i sincerely don't want to create a useless pressure on the devs, but as a mac owner ( and i should be also a receptor owner in a very short while ) there is here something i would be quite interested to evaluate by myself, so i'm curious to know if there would be any of these version eventually planned in a future ?

A mac version is planned. Don't ask when, though.

What does that mean? Some of us have to plan! Can you give us a YEAR? Will it be this year, will it be next year?
You've got a huge opportunity here for DirectWave on Mac. I hope you IL people understand just how acute the market need for that product really is.

I think it will be this year, but I can't say for sure.
Rest assured that we realize the potential of a mac version of DirectWave.

Isn't it relatively easier, coming from PC platform, to modify the .dll version for a receptor compatble one ?
I don't figure out exactly, just a thought ...

Maybe, but that's not planned at this time.

it's not... I've tried to make a step in this direction, but it didn't get much interest from Muse (as I needed their support of some kind).Krakatau wrote:Isn't it relatively easier, coming from PC platform, to modify the .dll version for a receptor compatble one ?

I've failed to find docs about reseptorized version, maybe I was blind. I've no idea what a kind of beast receptor is... it all can be resolved indeed, but Muse keeps silence.
Of course I'm talking about my synths, but I guess Argu must be in the same situation.

This is very sad, and unexpected. Given the huge amount of lip service that Muse has paid toward getting more VSTi's supported on the Receptor.
I would have guessed that Muse would support the Argu's and Maxx Claster's of the world, swiftly, enthusiastically, and completely. But now we know why the software support for Receptor is so thin: Muse doesn't really support developers as well as they ought to.
I have been on the fence, thinking I might get a Receptor for the past year or so. Now, I won't.

Got some feedback from Ben though recently. So it's a small step in this direction.
To me there is no sence to make plugins installed via "unsupported" method. Directwave is working on Receptor btw (according to Ben). But it's not really a solution, coz I'm looking for official support from Muse, in other case - we wouldn't bother with it.
Anyway - this idea is not completely dropped, I hope we still can figure it up after all. Depends on both our and Muse schedule, we are busy, and they are busy too.

Author and support for ToxicIII, Morphine and PoiZone VSTi's.

DirectWave/Mac Clamorers:
I have been hearing some rumblings from 112db. It seems that their "Morgana" product will be released soon. To my surprise, I am also hearing that they're going to release Morgana/Mac shortly afterward, maybe even this quarter.
This would be the very first fully-functional software sampler for the Mac OSX platform. Like the rest of you, I really want DirectWave/Mac, primarily because I like DW's layout, multitimbrality, and effects so much. Still, Morgana/Mac would be a welcome and extremely helpful step in the right direction, and I will certainly be purchasing it myself.
Update: Here is a link with some information on Morgana, I'm guessing they'll have the demo up soon as well...

Any plans to mac an intelmac compatible mac release of sytrus? sytrus and Z3TA+ are the only synths I'll really miss on my imac...

Sytrus is programmed in Delphi, which doesn't exist for mac. So it's currently extremely difficult to make a mac verison of it.
