I have a guitar riff for a song I am writing at the moment and I don't know how to play it on a guitar seeing as I can't play an instrument. I can do the riff in my head and even record it as vocals but I can't use a VSTi effect to make it into a sound with a virtual instrument seeing as I can't read sheet music. Does anyone have any ideas as to how we could solve this problem, perhaps a plug-in that can read the notes off my voice (because that at the moment is the only way I will be able to record the sound and retransmit it as a guitar riff?

There are audio to midi programs out there that can convert your vocal pitch into midi. Melodyne will do it (expensive though and the plugin version won't) I know I saw a thread in the last couple months about it. Here is an old one: http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/archive/e ... /56687.php
There is one more recent but I can't find it.
