Hello all. I just had a question regarding my micro korg's vocoder. I purchased it yesterday and I think the actual korg is defective. Everything in the synth is good the keys and the module itself, but when i switch to the vocoder and speak into the condenser mike, nothing comes out of my amp. If I return it i can get a new one. But i was just curious if anyone else had that same problem when purchasing a micro korg. if the vocoder gave you trouble. I have read that the condenser mike can be replaced.

thanks

lol man that is the funniiest thing I have ever seen in my life. Also dont get me wrong i love the micro korg and korg makes good synth's. Also I love the fact the sounds are so bassy and the genre switch is great. I have been wanting this synth since 2003-2004. I want to record with it also.

Do you have the input switch turned to the internal mic and the volume up... and you're playing some keys... and it's definitely a vocoder preset...?

Isn't there a global setting to choose the input too? If it's not new or has been a demo item then it's possible it's been changed.

Assuming that it isn't broke, that's what I'd be thinking. It's been a while since I sold mine, so that's just from memory.

I hate to overstate the obvious but are you playing note while you are speaking. That's how the vocoder works right. I don't own a microkorg but I have sat in front of my DAW for 10 minutes trying to figure out why there is no sound coming out only to realize my monitors weren't turned on. :?
Good luck with it.... :)

Definitly. I have the mic/line switch on to mic. the volume was down every time i tried it and I know thatI needed to put the volume switch higher. Thank you so much guys if I need any help i will reply more. And i am using a small crate guitar amp a 30 watt so when i use the vocoder I made sure that the volume on the ampis high. And yes Daniel I was playing the keys while talking into the mike. Also I am sort of a newb to recording and playing synths I am 25 and I have been recording since a year or 2 ago. I use a computer and a m audio recording box with another keyboard i use a casio. thank you guys if I need any more help I will write back.

peace

Ya, I thought it might be something like that. Guess I'm not the only one who does it.
Glad you didn't go through the embarrassment of taking it back. :? :)
