hum... seems that would have the opposite effect. you want to decouple the resonance to get less muddy bass. maybe it would help if they use sonically-transparent foam, but then the speakers would be wobbly if you have thick foam to isolate them. strange. seems like spiked feel would be best. but if you're ears tell you it's better that's all that matters!believe it or not, I use two mouse pads under my monitors. At one store I worked at we sold some expensive isolation pads, I noticed how similar they were to mouse pads...it works great...
Lets see some studio pics

I don't use it for the same purpose as you, for me it's to stop vibrations. I noticed after you use the spike type, maybe I should give that a try.maxhodges1 wrote:hum... seems that would have the opposite effect. you want to decouple the resonance to get less muddy bass. maybe it would help if they use sonically-transparent foam, but then the speakers would be wobbly if you have thick foam to isolate them. strange. seems like spiked feel would be best. but if you're ears tell you it's better that's all that matters!believe it or not, I use two mouse pads under my monitors. The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Not the most stylin' setup there is but gets something done...
The receiver and an omni mic I use sometimes for measurements and recordings.
The desk, computer monitor, box, and left speakers.
The whole shebang.

The sub is under the desk, a horrible spot for it but the only place I could center it. And yeah the right speaker is too close to the corner but it's either that or in front of the window.
