I'm developing a set of solo Chapman Stick pieces for live performance, and I'm interested in controlling a synth module with a MIDI pedal board, and set the key I'm playing in so that I could have the synth module play simple chords (for example if I'm playing in C, then the single notes on the MIDI pedal board would play the chords C, Dm, Em, F, G, etc. on the synth)

The Fantom and Motif modules look like they have pattern/arpeggio functions but I'm not sure if they adapt to a key signature, and there doesn't appear to be a rackmount KARMA, any ideas? I don't really need to trigger complex patterns or anything, just simple 3 or 4 note chord voicings based on a particular key. I wrote a MAX/MSP patch that does a similar thing (and I have it set up to analyze the lowest note I'm playing on the Stick and play the appropriate chord) which works fairly well but I'm interested in a non-computer alternative so I don't need to take a laptop with me to gigs.

What about one of those Yamaha QY series of composer modules. ( like the QY100)They are also small and would be perfect for a gig.It basiscally allows you to create your own auto-accompliament so it does not sound hooky, but its still sounds good. I don't know if that is what you are looking for. I also remember that Roland had a unit that followed you what you were doing thru MIDI..but that was a while ago.
