After about three years of using DFH2 as my main drum library I finally bit the bullet and bought BFD last night. I haven't really had the chance to do anything other than audition the kits but I'm already kicking myself for not having purchased this sooner. I think this might possibly be one of the most complex plugins I've ever used too.

I never used DFH but from the demos it seems a good drum sample library.

The two plugins are like night and day. BFD has far, far more articulations and is substantially more detailed. Just working out a mixing formula as it were is going to take some time...

Wasn't paying attention and was thinking of DFH Superior. Ooops.
Every time I've had a look at BFD I'm bewildered at how many extension libraries there are.

Every day takes figuring out all over again how to f#ckin’ live.

I'm probably going to pick up a couple of those extensions as soon as I get some more hard drive space...

I do trip-hop, downtempo and hip-hop oriented stuff. So breakbeats is the name of the game. Click on the myspace links to get a better idea. The stuff up there is a older than I would like to present but you'll get the idea.

If you think BFD is detailed, wait till you splurge on one (or more) of the expansions. Now those are detailed! Also, BFD 2.0 is right around the corner (shooting for a July release I hear, but I expect the usual software delays), so owning 1.0 should give you a nice little discount.
Oh, and I believe Guitar Center is now selling BFD 1.0 at $199 if anyone else is interested in picking it up.

I think I'm going to have to splurge pretty soon. The things I'm most concerned about are ride cymbals and snares and the rides that come with the vanilla version aren't really doing it for me.
GC is where I got mine. I went down there to look at basses and next thing I knew I was walking out with that. It was really too good a deal to pass up!

I think I'll probably have to go back for a bass too. They had a Warwick jazz bass for $314.00 down from $799.00. That thing sounded and played so freaking good...
