stressed - On The Road -> Nice instrumentation. Has a melancholy feel to it that I like. The vocals feel like they're coming through water, not sure I like that effect. End feels a little rushed. Overall, nice track.

scotthagel: barrelbuster - Attention shoppers, this is one wacky carrousel ride! The contrast between the buzziness of the bass double and the melody around the :40 mark is wonderful. Truly a light-hearted ride!

Legion Hush: Tumblin' Down - While hardly the well-constructed work submitted during Ostinato month (lest we forget)...this freaking thing is AWESOME! I really wanted to hate this. I tried. But this piece just works its way into your brain until you find yourself humming it in the middle of an international conference call. Damn near got fired because of this. Damn you!

jonny quest: Midifour - Dang, Sly Stone is in the house! Love the harmonica and the remainder of the very interesting instrumentation. Cool ride!

Hovmod: Funfair - A wonderfully relaxing soundscape. Really, the title says it all!

core: Off the Road - As usual, a plush arrangement from core. Beautiful sounds crafted into a soothing, subtle product. Gorgeous.

Sttjelle: Fueltrip - First off, I love the kick into the tune. Snappy snare and nice guitar! The arrangment from :16 to :32 really shines for me. From that point to about 1:05, David Foster takes over. Nice contrasts in the instrumentation throughout!

Ixox: A celle qui est trop gaie - You do such a nice job of surrounding your voice with just the right instruments. Wonderful mix of a wonderful story.

Beardedone: One the Road - A beautifully understated arrangement. I really like th processing on the organ throughout. Nice work!

spirulence: On a Road with Sounds - Really nice pallete of sounds, especially the vocal pad. Nice to hear another up-tempo rendition of this!

offthewall: Along the Road - Just a little too raw for my taste. it starts coming together a bit more near the end. I look forward to more of your penny whistle in the future.

advaya: Get Off The Road - Another relaxed take on file 1. Nice guitar work at the beginning, great job of backing the melody. Nice subtle build to a wonderfully delayed finish. Nice!

knockman - Frogs : Obviously a clear example of the "MelloSchool"; New Wave style singing and lots of fun (my frogs in the garden are singing your song day and night !).

indeed, it does bear all the hallmarks of the "melloschool" i.e. the unhinged conseqences of self-styled regression therapy, but i assure you that i arrived at this travisty entirely independent of that particular psyche-monger. glad there's frogs in yo' hood.

Took a few listens to grow on me. Bit fragile sounding, gets better towards the end and then ends too quickly! Keeper

Another leak of entries spilling in! Now...

streifentier - Wow. A narrative piece. :O The total accompaniment sounds very suiting as a more background backing. Somehow I think the voice track isn't loud enough, but other than that, I sure ain't gonna be hanging around fungus-infested trees anymore. I could actually picture a clear image while listening to this.

nikp2000 - The melodic arrangement of this sounds very much like Enya, only the instruments are very 80's. It sounds like one of those background tunes you hear while watching some Science Documentary. Vintage!

rachmiel - You slew the polka down to a very good speed here! The sound effect textures on this are nice, while the melody's going as if it was some futuristic music box. Lovely sound design on this. Could do for one of those Children's PC games' background music.

stressed - Another 'oldie' rendition of this song. I feel the drums don't suit this piece, seeing they're noticeably half a beat too early. I like the part at 1:14 with the solo.

Nils_B - This arrangement is quite the downtempo-acoustic. I like the percussive and subtle sound effects going on at the background, adds that extra depth the song in general already gives out. Definetly a hit to me, too bad this contest limits the length to a demo. :S

me109 - Someone playing polka with a portable orchestra, only to take a new turn at 0:30. It gets really 'loud' on the second half, more than it should be. Beer? Well, it's a pub piece but it's not drunk enough.

You nailed the Prog. style there (does that have something to do with last month's?). Although it's not entirely 'progressive', the nature of those chosen timesigs are quite tricky to pull off--Spot on! You pulled off the 'dark/evil' vibe perfectly. I love that harmonized arpeggio at 0:36. Drums are slick, same with the bassline. (And they're real ones. :O) It's too short, but this is so good.

Thanks for all the input there are so many good tracks this month it's gonna be a hard hard time voting (E.V. it's weird how we all here things differently but I swear I don't remember recording it in the bath LOL) but then again my brain is so addled anything is possible

Hard time voting, oh yes. Naturally, it appears the pieces that had the most time taken will obviously outstand on the poll, while the rest will linger around heiling someone of some kind of superiority over them.

But seriously, stuff like this is always fun, where one puts their skill to the test against everyone else. (ie: The hunt's more exciting than the catch.. or something like that.)

stressed - On the road : At this moment I can say only 3 things : These last 3 admissions are just supperb !!! Without any doubt a fascinating month !

streifentier - The giant mushroom tree : IMO the best prizes will be given before voting time : all these versions in the contest must be a treasure for the composers of the original songs !

Scoops - Rejuxta position : Besides having an outstanding equipment and great instruments, you have a wonderful talent as musician and "botton-twister". If you ever go for president of the Canary Islands, you'll have my vote !

The whole time I was doing this, I felt like I was doing a collab, so I tried to keep the "dark intent" intact.

- Had to have a little chuckle with this cuz it does sound like prog. Didn't do it intentionally. It's just where the music took me.

Laguna Rising - Wanton Exaggeration
I really like all the different instruments you used. Drums get a bit too frantic on the snare for me but the piano and guitar sound very nice. Works very well. Another keeper
