I'm happy with TC-electronics's Fabrik Reverb

Classik Studio Reverb????? WTF?
Have you CSR voters even ever heard Wizooverb (OR ArtsAcoustic)?
CSR was the biggest disappointment for me of all times ever, seriously. I wouldn't use CSR even if it was for free. I must have missed the magic button when I demoed CSR. It sounded cheapish, artificial, I didn't get it at all.

I voted "other" because the very best reverb presently is almost guaranteed to be:
1) a highly subjective call, or;
2) out of my price range, or;
3) both of the above

IMHO "best" is the arithmetic mean of quite a few parameters, including:
- sound quality
- system load
- price
- ease of use/workflow
- plug-in format

dutch_schulz, I agree with that, but for me, the "best" in software reverbration would actually be "good enough" and composed of mainly:
- sound quality
- sound quality
- sound quality
- features
- sound quality
And still, all I know of in the software world just doesn't really cut it for me. Some day I'll be able to afford a certain Eventide machine that will end many of my troubles, including lack of quality reverb.
Edit: and since this topic doesn't actually say we're restricted to software or UAD/Powercore/Whatever, then my choice of "best" is Eventide H8000 for reverb (among many other things).

I think this kind of thing will always be subjective...who cares? Always interesing to hear peoples' opinions on the subject.
I agree with Shy: nothign in software really hits reverb like hardware yet. Actually, speaking of hardware: I'll be very curious to hear this, as long as they don't f**k it up, like they did with that Sonar Lexicon reverb.

I too feel CSR is a little overated. The demos on their site are pretty good, but when I tried it at home, it didn't sound as good as AAR on most content.CSR was the biggest disappointment for me of all times ever, seriously. I wouldn't use CSR even if it was for free. I must have missed the magic button when I demoed CSR. It sounded cheapish, artificial, I didn't get it at all.
CSR is supposed to be based in some way on the Lexicon algorithms, but doesn't have the same magic that my 224XL has. Of course it only costs a small fraction of the price...

All too true, but I figured in "I may be able to afford it". $495 for a rank amateur like myself isn't "best" no matter what it sounds like.emdot_ambient wrote:I voted "other" because the very best reverb presently is almost guaranteed to be:
