The "absolute best" reverb? I like Trueverb for stereo room effects...but best overall? Yikes!Bubbamusic wrote:Waves Trueverb

I've thoroughly compared ArtsAcoustic, Wizooverb and CSR and I personally believe that CSR is the best sounding of the three.
ArtsAcoustic comes close but it lacks the beautiful open sound of CSR.
Hoping to buy CSR after using Pristine Space Light for many years with Lex 960 impulses, CSR sounds better than the impulses I use too
If you're missing the modulation of ArtsAcoustic verb when using CSR, here's a trick...
Step 1
Create a vibrato preset with Kjaerhus Classic Verb
1) Add a soft synth with a simple waveform (sine or sawtooth will do)
2) Insert a Kjaerhus Classic Chorus and set Wet to 100%, Feedback to 0%, Stereo = off. Now adjust the delay / depth / rate until you get a good preset for a typical vibrato sound.
3) Save this preset (you can use it in later projects without doing these steps)
Step 2
Create an aux send for your reverb and insert the Kjaerhus Classic Chorus Vibrato preset first and then CSR. And there you have it, the gorgeous sound of CSR with modulation !
Haven't tried VariVerb yet, I guess I probably should
Enjoy

MasterVerb: Very natural sounding reverb for acoustic stuff.
Truverb: Exceptionally good at giving a sound a depth with its early reflections. Not super for very long tail reverbs but todays music is all about short reverbs and early reflections. Extremely CPU efficient beside the current popular reverbs.
Sonic Flavours R66: Great for long, modulated hall/plate reverbs. Works best for synth stuff.

How can you do a "best reverb" survey without including three of the best reverbs available: Magix Variverb, Altiverb, and the UAD1 Plate 140? Glaring omissions. Bad survey.

We should do a pre-poll thread, collect ALL the contenders (within reason) and then do a poll, proper!

What do you guys think of Rayspace ? I'm just playing around with it and it's very impressive. Biggest problem being I find it harder to program than most verbs since you have to know what sort of room you wish to draw for a particular sound.
Also, experimenting more with R66, I see that it is only good for big rooms, for small rooms, it starts sound very metallic

I like Arts Acoustic best. Easy to use, almost always gets me a result I am happy with, decent for cpu, no dongle or C/R, generous licensing for multiple machines, fair price, and made by a small developer.
