Alesis Fusion (AFI) conversion to WAV/SF2/other?

Hello there,
is there any way to convert Alesis Fusion (AFI) propriatery format into WAV or some other 'open' audio format? There is an Alesis Fusion Converter utility for Win/MacOS available as a download but it only converts *to* AFI, not the other way round.
I'm looking for a sample of the 'Choir MS' choir sample off the Emu Emulator II sampler and I can only find it in AFI format.
P.S. Alternatively, can anybody point me to a link where one can get a (free) sample of Emulator II's choir voices? (the ones used, for example, by Depeche Mode in "Enjoy the silence")
Thanks in advance,
aZiMuTh

I have a Fusion and have not yet found a way to convert to WAV, although I haven't looked for a few months.

Could'nt you upload a AFI sample somewhere and i'll have a look at it. I might not have the time to do anything but bigger miracles has happened.
They're just audiofiles. Most of the time the conversion isn't very hard. Unless they're compressed. Then you're on your own.

For what it's worth, the AFI files I'm interested in, are 'Choir MS' 1 and 2 that are found in the multisamples folder of the following zip file:jupiter8 wrote:Cool. I'll have a look at it and see if i can find something out.

Correct. Alesis made their samples in a proprietary (and compressed) format in order to protect their Intellectual Property from being freely downloaded and used by people who have not put any $$ their way. Sensible move if you ask me!dreaddd wrote:but i fear, unless Alesis developed sth along that way available to only reg user,
Even registered Fusion users have no access to anything to convert Fusion samples to wav or anything.
The AFI is just the 'multi-sample' that holds the raw samples. You'd need to reverse engineer the proprietary sample format as well and then (perhaps) tie them into the reverse engineered AFI.jupiter8 wrote:Could'nt you upload a AFI sample somewhere and i'll have a look at it.
Which they are... using a proprietary lossless compression process.jupiter8 wrote:They're just audiofiles. Most of the time the conversion isn't very hard. Unless they're compressed.

...I'm almost sure this can be found in the Zero-G Nostalgia library - another great product by Hollowsun...azimuth wrote:I'm looking for a sample of the 'Choir MS' choir sample off the Emu Emulator II sampler and I can only find it in AFI format.

Thanks for the pointer. I had a look at Nostalgia's list of patches on offer and I'll seriously consider getting this. Quite a nice range of retro synth patches in there.
Good job by Hollow Sun, as usual.
And you're right. I did see an EmuII Choir patch in there.

Thanks for the kind comments on Nostalgia guys. You're not alone - it's a popular product
You can get the EII choir here:

Enjoy!

Sorry guys. No AFI to wave converter from me. If i had access to an Alesis Fusion it might have been another story but as it is now,it is a needle in a heystack job.
