Hi there
Just installed vista , and unfortunately my current sound card is not detected by it (darn) .
So I need a new sound card that'll work in Vista , upto around £100 (150Euro / $200)
I was going for the Audiophile 2496 , but no Vista drivers.
So any other suggestions ?
Cheers

There will be Vista drivers for all eventually. It would make more sense to use XP until everything works on Vista. This wont be the first problem you will encounter on it :

Hi Jon,
use the Terratec Phase 22, they have Vista support for a while, we have it here for Vists tests too,
very reliable too.

Also anything from MOTU but rather pricey. Check out the Echo line of soundcards. I believe that all are Vista compatable. I really like the looks of the Phase 22 that Peter suggests though!

Peter - thank you so very much for the best tip ever! This gear looks really nice and it's from a German firm that I always view as a plus! Thanks you, thank you.Peter from LinPlug wrote:Hi Jon,

Thanks for all the options , I'll have to have a look into these more. However the terratec looks like the one.

the emu cards are supposed to have soem sort of vista support this month - but it may well be buggy - i think it's just a beta
I believe every thread should devolve into character attacks and witch-burning. It really helps the discussion.

Hi there
Thanks for all the advice , I put in an order for Terratec Phase 22 , about £70 . It looks like a good sound card and it has vista drivers (checked on website) , so hopefully I'll be get sound in Vista soon (which is useful given what I do )

I'd really be interested in your feedback after it's installed and you've used it for awhile.Concretefx wrote:Hi there

ASIO4ALL is amazing and now works with Vista. This should be a reasonable work around for 99% or all audio cards.
