HI

I missed this as well :-o

Is there (currently) any way to expand/contract within the piano-roll?

In V1 you had a little box in the bottom right corner to expand the lanes, and you could click and expand/contract the timeline via the timeline bar.

Hope these features come soon.

But it is nice to see the 'floating' piano-roll again.

Flipper.

I miss being able to scan through presets w/o having to open the VST GUI.

Live comp is in the works. +1 to the VST version although i find 1.4 is quite suitable as a plug ins rack.
I'm better than you. Deal with it.

Hi Jorgen

Any chance of getting "percentage quantization" in v2?

-keyboard control in piano roll + step edit
-midi fxs/groove/comps
-full blown enveloppes

i'm just wondering if there will be more automation styles, like steps, per note values (like how velocity is right now but for all parameters).

VST version. It's the only thing I now use eXT for anyway :)

GLUE!
I have tons of very tiny parts in the arrange window right now...

too early to play such games :P

Basically I want everything to be easier/faster to do
-lots of sliders in the component window
-live pattern based arranging
-quicker midi composing with qwerty only

PRE-VIEW when placing notes! (err.. pre-hear I mean.. becuz can alreadye SEE em..)

err..
been doing calculus ALL day and my head is but a mushy swamp of |x^2/inf|..

To clarify my original question - I'm not asking what you'd quite like to see or what you think would be a nice idea - we've got lots of threads like that already. I'm asking whether there are features that are almost certainly going to be in there eventually, but which you pretty much need to be there before you can use XT2 as your main host (or whatever you expect to end up using it for). So if you were happy using XT1, things that weren't in that are probably bad calls, for instance...

Oh yeah. Add groove to my list.
It's a rave, Lewis!

lol .. 1 poutine pls

I'm waiting for groove templates (realtime non-destructive like Logic & option to destruct!) & MIDI Clock & MMC IN/OUT Sync. Extract groove from MIDI files & audio files & be able to apply to MIDI & sliced audio (like Reaper). This way I can ditch GURU (grooves) for the XT2 sequencer & sampler, and use a clock external to the PC for tighter MIDI (MPC/ASR or Remote SL).

I can send you the MPC60/3000, SP1200, ASR-10 & 909 grooves to add to the default groove library if you like jorgen. You'll have hiphop heads around the world going crazy buying licenses if you add these features & let it be known over at futureproducers.com. Hiphop production studio replacement for Ableton Live that integrates well with an MPC/ASR/MV-8800. If you add Rewire, they'll go even more nuts .. being able to integrate Reason as a sound module.
Cheers!

Let's see... Off the top of my head...

"I'd very much like:"

- to see MIDI sequencer tracks added to the mixer. It's be enormously useful to at least have a volume and pan control for the MIDI tracks.

- native multiple MIDI OUT support.

"I'd quite like to see:"

- Synth/sampler be able to import SFZ (nice, open format). It's a great tool, but that would make it even more useful. Even if it just reads the sample location and mapping from the SFZ header (alternatively, I'd like it if Extreme Sample Converter could just support Synth/sampler).

"Sort of cool to have:"

- something akin to the previous sequencer's MIDI port system, where you just create MIDI outputs in the sequencer as required, and select it for whichever MIDI track you desire, rather than every MIDI track creating its own sequencer MIDI out. I have a lot of outboard gear on a Steinberg Midex 8, in addition to a little extra VST muscle, and it sure gets crowded on the component screen!
