i would like to control my microwave with a MIDI track

If you add Rewire, they'll go even more nuts .. being able to integrate Reason as a sound module.
Cheers!
maybe we (henning) already did...

It's a rave, Lewis!

What actually stops me fro working solely with XT2 instead of v1 is the lack of a plug-in version.

it's already there (midi-tracks) ;-)

too early to play such games :P

Basically I want everything to be easier/faster to do

1)Being able to separate stereo in/outs of a comp (useful for side chaining)(still would like to be able to create feedback loops too for experimental stuff)

2) Punch in/out for recording (I see on a previous reply that it might be there, but I am having trouble getting it to work. Maybe it is there and I am doing something wrong)

-browser sample preview

-envelope tracks - seperate from the MIDI track, the old style ones are what i would love.

-pattern sequencing. god i hope that xt2 will have the same multi mode type of thing. Having the playlist style song editor, and pattern based sequencing along with linear and loop tracks!!! no other sequnencer since Creator on the Atari has been a more perfectly intuitive setup for me. Without it i will be sticking to v.1

-audio part comps, with the same MIDI triggering option for tracks. Never seen that outside of xt1, and it's brilliant! like a built in groove-sampler crossed with multitracker. I hope it comes back.

I guess it has been said that everything that was in xt1 will be possible in xt2, and i sure hope that's true.
resistors are futile you will be simulated

see?

It has always been there, since the first beta - you just need to use it! :-D

I can't say it enough times: I miss that small circular speaker-button in the
part editor to hear what I am actually doing - hope it will be there soon. :)

So I'm sure it's come up a bunch before, but I've failed miserably to find the answer; but where in the grand scheme does the VST version sit? Is it going to be released later in the development cycle or is it going to be one of those things that just all of a sudden appears in the latest beta?

I messed around with XT2 today and I have to say I'm really impressed with the improvements already obvious over 1.4 :)

almost, but I would say that its not quite the same yet..... mainly because I can't see the envelope when it is collapsed. I know its a small issue but, well, it annoys me.
