how to set SUSTAIN ctrl on MK-425C?

I have the M-Audio MK-425C and am trying to set a SUSTAIN control on one of the knobs (C8 actually). I am using the ENIGMA software to try to set it. I have the "Bomes Mouse Keyboard" software and thru that tested by adding a knob with "064 Sustain Switch" and it works perfect with my VST software (ie 0-immediately releases note, 127-hold note forever) but setting 64 to the MK-425C knob doesnt seem to do anything. I have verified that I am able to set other controls to knobs and those do affect the VST properly
