it's already there (midi-tracks) ;-)
almost, but I would say that its not quite the same yet..... mainly because I can't see the envelope when it is collapsed. I know its a small issue but, well, it annoys me.
But there is an option to have the envelope show on top of the track being used. Isn't it? :?:

'but of course you can - you just need to stack it (there are three buttons at the bottom of the track-header - click the right one) ;-)

Excuse me if some one mentioned this before or something completely stupid, but being able to save a mixer setup (with all its fx and sends). For instance when working on some beats to quickly load a mixer setup with fx routed to mangle your beats, reverbs and what not. You can quickly get some stuff done, render it to wav import it in the project and in the end load a final compression/eq mixer setup to finalize it all.

That's the basic feature which stops you from moving to XT2 from 1.4, right?

If I were saying what is stopping me from moving from XT1 to XT2 I'd say:

Multi-mode sequencing
Midi VST
The inability to delete references to audio files from the audio pool (in the browser) - I hate things like that
If I used it more in XT1 I would say the absence of "Live" mode too.
Lack of CC mapping
VSTi/fx version and the ability to create added complexity through it.

On the other hand, I've pretty much dumped XT1 in favour of REAPER at the moment while I'm waiting to see what happens with XT2. I'm thinking of adding XT2 as a VSTi into REAPER to give me multi-mode and live-mode sequencing eventually.

Erm, not at all, I'm quite new to this music making stuff with eXT and just randomly using both versions from time to time..all depends on which eXT1 or eXT2 icon gets my attention first.
I don't know if U are being sarcastic, sorry if this is already discussed. Just say so and move on. Thanks for your time.

Automation recording. It's what made me hold off on buying xt1, untill someone told me 2 was a free upgrade. I learned to live without it, but the day that get's added i'll be very, very happy. For live performance and quick demo-ing, that's my #1 missed feature.

Midi FX Support <like in XT1 Sequencer>, Swing Comp & PDC is all i need to switch to be honest,

although my main fear would still be tracks becoming broken by updates,

todays update is a most useful one IMO

yes, I was - there are approximately 12.783 esoteric feature-requests regarding XT2 floating around - but this thread is about summing up the real show-stoppers (at least that's how I understood it)

No one has said, recording of VST GUI movements to automation yet?! I didn't want to be that jerk but I guess I am now :hihi:

Or is that what you meant MgihtyPea?

Post

I was about to post, how the new light GUI was my new and only show stopper.
nevermind. found the Dark option. :hihi: (thank God)
other than that, I think XT2 and XT1 are very good partners.
(really makes you wonder if both were written by one and the same person :hihi:)

so before completly switching over, I'll be mastering and expanding my XT1 library first.
still need to learn how to use the MungRack.

me,too...can anyone explain it to us ? :)
I don't see where this feature is implemented. As far as i see, there is no punch in/out recording yet. I agree that it is something needed.
I'm better than you. Deal with it.

That was what I had in mind with the question, yes. Not the things that you'd quite like to have a host with, but the things you can't use it as a full host without.
It's a rave, Lewis!
