External hardware control ?
Import of Cubase or Sonar instrument definition files ? (personally, the last step to leave Sonar or Cubase)..

Remeber last note length
Remeber last note velocity

+1!
generally everything that has to do with the part editor win.
btw, did I mention the small circular speaker button that allows you to hear what
you're doing while placing notes? :hihi:

I don't know if this has been mentioned/implemented, but no midi sync problems in the main view ( see here - http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 75#2427975 )in the main view

Post

What stops me from using it as my main sequencer is :
-Midi out (as already mentioned) To control hardware gear (this is a big show
stoper, some of us still won't sell there gear and there soul to vst's)
-Merge (glue) sequences (as already mentionned)
-Rewire (i know it's maybee already done, if so how?) with reason (reason to XT2)
and Live (Live to XT2 mainly, the other way round is XT as a VST in live)
-Edit audio (sample gain, tone (tune and fine) eddition, slice)
-Time signature edition (not just 4/4)

That's about it

cool feature would be a video previewer and a h:min:sec:picture time line
Allsow an always on top transport bar (with [start] [stop] [rec] [go to start] [FAST FWD] and [FAST REWIND] (these two aren't yet included(??) the dock, the tempo and eventualy the position of the cursor when working on a sequencer and maybe a couple of other "nice to have right there" features on it)

All of this would make my day big time!

This might be a minor thing to most, but it's a big thing to me:

Compared to XT1, XT2 takes up too much screen real estate at the top, meaning I can't really use it at low resolutions. This means that XT1 is superior to it on things like micro PCs and such.

Any chance of being able to bypass plugins from the comp view or from the pugin GUI window? At the moment only send and insert FX seem to be bypassable.

I agree to Vortex2000 in each point. Especially the MIDI hardware-output and the video-synchronisation is important for me. Merging parts sounds good, too.

Actually I use N-Track for this issues but the MIDI editing in N-Track is terrible.

i think it's allready been said, but MULTIPLE MIDI OUTPUTS (MIDI out is allready implemented in eXT2, unless I'm mistaken), so that I can control different hardware machines without going through all that MIDI in/MIDI thru chaining stuff...
to me, that's the first thing that's stopping me from completely switching to eXT (1 or 2).

that transport bar vortex2000 talked about would be nice too (well, all of his suggestions would fit my needs)

also, some guy mentioned the possibility to just set the number of beats/bars for an audio clip so XT would just sync it automatically.
that also would be great, as i use quite a lot of audio recordings from me jus playing a keyboard and tweaking the knobs.

maybe i can do some of these things allready but I'm kind of new to eXT so if someone has some tips, they're welcome!

And a proper SySex support plus a midi sync.

Most important indeed.

There's still no @#$% runtime icon. :P I know it's silly but I Alt+Tab between apps a lot and use the taskbar a lot and find it unnerving that the sequencer / host / whatever I'm depending on didn't even bother to give itself an icon.

Uhh I'm just sort of dinking around with eXT2 for the first time and I'm scratching my head .... umm ... where's the ability to just right-click, add a VSTi, and just start playing? I think I'll stick with eXT1, thanks.
