I keep trying to like rayspace. it's one of those things where I love the principle behind it and think that the concept is the way to go, but I just don't like the sounds I am getting out of it. Every time an update or new version comes out I download the demo and play with it until it expires but it has yet to entice me to go through with the purchase. I want to be believe. Convince me!Shy wrote:Not safe at all I'd say. Although the AA reverb is clearly the winner in this choice poll, I much prefer RaySpace over all the choices except "other". I've gotten much better, natural sounding results with it. It's a truly interesting and powerful sound design tool. Their ray reflection approach is unique, the sound is very rich and the possibilities are remarkable. It's true that it's much harder to program, but that doesn't concern me at all since I'm a masochist when it comes to tweaking sound of either synths or effects to my liking.

SuperFly76, get a small mpc excerpt here. It's just a draft and doesn't sound too good at all but demonstrates an unusual delayish reverb I set up with RaySpace for the synth. (didn't separate it because it would sound silly without the drums
)
Anyway, the presets included with RaySpace are good starting points and can immediately show you why it's much different than other reverbs.

Voted other.
The Arts Acoustic is my fave out of the listed name ones, but the reverb I still love to use which is my favourite is an old Direct-X one (yes still on SX3, haven't upgraded to 4 yet) that was made in 1998 and still sounds incredible today.
..but I'm not going to say what it is, it's like a secret weapon now, such a low cpu hit on todays computers

Mr.KurtCocain how did you forget Altiverb - my choice
IMO artsacoustic sounds very artificial, i dont know it kills the natural charasteristics of my recordings.
I heard Sony oxford sounds pretty good, im looking forward to getting this aswell.
Before I used Altiverb i used Waves Trueverb which was good enough.
So yeah altiverb is the best. make sure you get that on your voting list

I don't own Altiverb, but now I can understand how it is loved by so many engineers...I was really into the AA verb, but now I find it mostly excells on synths. While Perfect Space loaded with MoReVox Retroverb impulses rules on vocals and guitars. imho.
