It does work well with a computer however an EMX will better serve you with Drums and 5 synth parts and infinite MMT synth voices, just use your computer sampler for the sampler stuff.
The arpeggiator is amazing.

Yes, I have had them both. With the Arp that is them you can do a solo or create new meolidies, it's not a static Arp at all. It's amazing.stale bread wrote:riley is the arp the same on the esx and the emx?

There are some issues using it as a control surface but someone on the korg forums has just released an app to address them meaning you can use it to control livedaley wrote:thanks for all advice, its been great help.
There seem to be a few other issues as well so worth having a look on the boards. No problems with mine
Peace.

No problems here either, I used both EMX and ESX to control Live they worked perfectly.musikmachine wrote:There are some issues using it as a control surface but someone on the korg forums has just released an app to address them meaning you can use it to control livedaley wrote:thanks for all advice, its been great help.

Cool. How did you set it up?Were you able to use the electribes sounds at the same time?Did you dedicate some parts to controlling live and other to sound playback?I'm thinkng for live use..riley4reason wrote:No problems here either, I used both EMX and ESX to control Live they worked perfectly.musikmachine wrote:There are some issues using it as a control surface but someone on the korg forums has just released an app to address them meaning you can use it to control livedaley wrote:thanks for all advice, its been great help.

When I had a ESX, I synched it to a EA1MKII so that I could have the Samplers plus 4 awesome syths. I highly recommend this config...It's a blast. I kinda miss it.
It's all the way in Ireland by now.

I haven't had a chance to test these yet as my EMX should turn up tomorrow but may be useful to some folks and Electribe owners.riley4reason wrote:No problems here either, I used both EMX and ESX to control Live they worked perfectly.musikmachine wrote:There are some issues using it as a control surface but someone on the korg forums has just released an app to address them meaning you can use it to control livedaley wrote:thanks for all advice, its been great help.

Not to try and hijack the thread, but how easy is it to get midi patterns from elsewhere into the EMX or ESX, do you have to record them in ?
Or can you put them on the smart card and import ?
Reading the manual but can't find any info.

I think they can be used to control the EMX, ie they send info to the EMX, so you can progamr the synths on the PC.musikmachine wrote:Are the emx ones vst emulations or editors???My french isn't very goodNev wrote:
