Does this happen when you change presets on the ToxicIII interface? Or only when you use Cubase's preset selector?

Sytrus and Toxic are completely different internally, for what it's worth.

Still cannot reproduce it here...
Do you use FLS or another host? Do you have other host to try, does it happen everytime in every host?

Well, ok, maybe this is what you meant...
I do have some "freeze" in FLS when I change a program with hosts editor. But this freeze is just 1/10 seconds long and I don't think it really matters. I never considered this as a serious problem.
Is the freeze in your case longer?
Octopus takes more CPU that Toxic. You may estimate it yourself - enable 6 oscillators on Toxic and filter, make the same on Octopus and hit, say, 8 notes, see the CPU. You may notice that most Toxic presets have pretty big unison, and polyphiny is big when you play. Octopus has only 12 notes polyphony, Toxic 64. That's why it may look like Toxic is CPU heavy... it's not. Comparing to other synths, playing with THE SAME number of notes (number of keys pressed * unison number) you may see that Toxic is pretty CPU friendly.

Sytrus doesn't need to recalculate waves on the fly, resulting to they are aliased until you increase oversampling, when Toxic does it and you may hear the oscillators themself have zero aliasing. And sytrus doesn't need to interpolate oscillator waves with splines, when Toxic does it offering smooth accurate sound...just wanted to add, sytrus doesn't even spike 1mm when changing patches, poizone has a tiny spike but no burps

ok, thanks...
I'm trying to resolvethis problem. It's also planned to optimize the engine for "big unison" sounds... Soon there will be the update available.

I believe Toxic IV a.k.a. Toxic Biohazard is due to be release by the end of the year. Whether it'll fix the C4 bug and/or provide backward compatibility with Toxic III presets I don't know.ttoz wrote:any news??? it's been almost a year lol (well 3/4 of one)
