3/4 time? 3-minute song? 3 note polyphony? 3 BPM? 3 songs per entrant?Scoops wrote:Echo has edged out napalmbob and selected B
Stay tuned to find out what "3" means.
The waiting is the hardest part.
Gotta be quick on the draw with these arbitrary choices.napalmbob wrote:Damn you voodoo.
Yeah, GVST has some cool stuff.napalmbob wrote:And I use the GVST plugins too,

Thanks Mr Bob, i'm glad you liked it...napalmbob wrote:Ixox - A celle qui est trop gaie Real acoustic? Sounds really friggen good. I like what's going on in the background with the bongoesqe thing. Violin solo is cool.
Strings and percussions are midi through samplers.
Guitare is real.
Yes i know... But after 35 years of practicing, you get used to.napalmbob wrote: French sucks.

It is not often that one gets to assist with psychotherapy and a bout with insomnia simultaneously. I am honored.napalmbob wrote:mmichalski59 - They Fly To Heaven Nice soft intro. Really cool bongoing. Soothing piano. Yawn. Some sunshiny flute. I'm sleepy again...

napalmbob wrote: Laguna Rising - Wanton Exaggeration I'd like to hear a longer version of this. I think the intro progresses too fast. Cool drumming. Really pro transitions. I love the way it falls apart at the end with the car sounds. More cars!!!
Thanks for the kind words ! I'd like to have time to do a longer version
I'm glad you like the way it fades out into the traffic, it's reverse cymbals with the right amount of effects
it comes from the original midi file (composed by MaliceX)
And it's a kind of pastime to read all the reviews
Cheers

This month I had no doubt on the #1, it was so convincing...Scoops wrote:Let me start by saying a big THANKS to all of those that have voted for my comp this month. Especially to Laguna Rising, MaliceX, and me109 for the big #1
Being your own version of the same midifile I mangled, I immediately recognized it is definitely good (no, it's fine), more melodic and imaginative.
Cheers

Maybe a 3 seconds song? That would be a challenging contest!Echo Voodoo wrote:3-minute song?
I feel that I (among others) received an HM here... Thank you (honestly)! However, I think, it (the sound) may be the outcome of actually hearing too much (music) before.napalmbob wrote:...especially those crazy few who have never even heard music before and just aim to make some "organized sounds", you guys are crazy.
Also browsing the votes I discovered that I've got a #1 vote, wow! What an unexpected and encouraging (space) event! Thank you! (stinky, slimy zombie hug here)
This was a great month, leaving quite a lot of track in my "keep folder", making me feel a bit sorry we had to squeeze into 128 kbps, as some of the tunes seems to suffer from too much compression.

Maybe ask to to create a triangle in music.
Maybe the 3 populations Plato based his Utopian city on.
Hmmmmm....
I have a really fast computer, some good mics, vintage musical instruments, and lots of fancy software. Just need some talent

Thanks to Echo Voodoo, ianweb123, xander, Scoops and Pi_314 for the votes this month and Max el Belga for the HM (and anyone I might have inadvertently missed). Thanks to all of you for taking the time to participate, listen, and offer comments.

Thanks to everyone who voted for mine this month, especially Khepira, Barnadine, ianweb123, slartibartfast and rachmiel for the 1's and 2's!
I've still got some production issues to clean up. I really appreciate how the contest makes you listen to your own stuff from so many different perspectives. The challenge is to take it all into consideration, learn from it and keep growing, while at the same time, follow your own ideas through to completion, making them turn out the best you can.
Anyway, thanks again - as always, it was fun.
