Hello all,
I wonder if somebody can deconfuse me. I have just bought a VMK188 and I am confused by the programmable controls. The manual says things like:-
• 8 programmable knobs X 2 banks;
• 8 programmable buttons X 2 banks;
• 9 programmable sliders X 4 banks;
• A 5-button programmable transport section;
• And 3 programmable pedal inputs.
That's a total of 77 assignable controls!
...but I can see no way to access more than 1 "bank". Can any VMK owners help?
Thanks,
Lindon

I don't own one - but I quickly downloaded the manual from Musicansfriend.com and it clearly shows a Bank Select button under the LCD display on Page 3. On page 5 it mentions that you can make a quick Bank Selection with the controls.
It sounds like you just hit it. And further along it mentions that you use either the Hi or Low Bank in a preset.
That's all the help from me. Hope that it gets you furthur along.

Thanks but my understanding is that there are two different kinds of banks being talked about here. The Bank Selection button you are talking about deals with banks on my synth - ie it's MIDI-speak. The "banks" I want to change pertain to the sliders, knobs etc - like shifting a PC keyboard to reach different characters.
Am I confused?

Well the manual is definitely confusing.
I downloaded the manual from the Studiologic website to ensure that I had the right manual - it's the same as the one MF had on-line.
Looking at page 12, step 2 - there is one note about banks - they seem to be named A ... ? Page 12 is the Slider/Knob Programming section. There are no examples of what appears in the display, so I think that you will have to explore yourself.
Looking at the stuiologic.net website, the only downloads appear to be manuals and an Excel spreadsheet of presets for various instrument/daw programs - however banks aren't really mentioned except for a Bank Hi/Low column.
Sorry I can't be of more help,
Gil

Thanks a lot for your efforts. The good news is that my brain is ok - I just received an email from Studiologic:-
There are only 1 bank of each controller on that
unit. The manual is mistaken because it refers to the VMK 88plus,
which does have the multiple banks. Apologies for the confusion.
Case closed.
