If you have experience with either UM-550 or UM-880, please comment on its reliability. I need a MIDI patcher with 64-bit OS support, so M-Audio is out of the question, but I have no experience at all with these two.

Is it really "fast and stable" as they advertise? And should I expect any weirdnesses?

Thank you.

I got UM-880 and it's far the best midi interface I've used. I haven't had any single problem with them. "Fast and stable" as advertised. Highly recommended. They have also Vista and 64-bit drivers. I don't have experience on those though. The "Fast" mode works only with their own drivers. The interface can be set into standard audio device mode as well, when it does not need any drivers. In case their drivers are buggy or they drop support someday. Those interfaces are even sysex programmable through special midi port it shows through USB. So perfect for automated setup/routing changes through your DAW or during live gigs. I think the only bad thing on those is that Edirol has discontinued making those interfaces...

Thanks Mark.
Hmm, I didn't know there's a special "fast" mode.
