Electro-House: Staccat sequence and wobble-bass - how to do?

Hi there!

I have a small question regarding popular production techniques in electro-house. I love this sound and admire the work of producers like Axwell, Ingrosso and Eric Prydz.

Whilst listening to their music I realised that there are a few recurring production techniques with all artists. One thing that's very popular is for example a special kind of staccato sequence that is used in lead sounds and very importantly with the bass. When I try to recreate this sound by using 16ths I cannot manage to replicate it and it drives me almost crazy. I'm sure there's something more to it than just rightly timed notes - but what?

The second technique I often hear is what I call the wobbly bass. When you hear it, it seems that the bass is coming out of an unclear bottom wobble to reach utmost in-your-face-clarity. There's a lot of dynamics involved, I guess, but still, I'm not able to replicate it convincingly too.

Please excuse me if you can't understand what I'm saying, for I'm not a native speaker. I try to best formulate my question.

In order for you to better analyse what I mean by these special sounding staccato sequences (do they use any special techniqe?) and the "wobbly bass" I made a short snippet. That you can download below.

Finally, and this seems to me to be a perfect example, this is a youtube video of one of Axwell's latest tracks containing spades and spades of this staccato technique. Also this metallic kind of lead seems so nice - what do you think how did he do it?

I will check it out when i get home and give you a more detailed opinion. But what i understand is that House Producers use the most of their keyboards. I have an Yamaha S-90, and it has most od the sounds that you are talking about. I am sure that lot's of them use Reason as well.
I will check the tunes and let you know...
