Kontakt 2/Extreme Sample Converter?

Has anyone here used Extreme Sample Converter to change Kontakt 2 sounds to other formats? How good did the conversion sound?

42 views so far. So you mean to tell me that ESC has the capability to convert Kontakt 2 sounds to other formats, but no one on here has ever tried it?

I converted Sampletekk's Rain Piano from Kontakt1 (because that's what the sample set was) to sfz format for DimPro. The wav files looked the same, and the .sfz file looked reasonable.
However, I didn't have enough RAM to actually play it, since Rain Piano is roughly 750MB and DimPro does not stream, so I can't say if it really worked or not.
I don't know if EXSC supports the changes that happened in 2.1 (I think) yet, and AFAIK it does not deal with encrypted monolithic sample sets (and most likely won't).

I have both Kontakt 2 and ESC and use each quite a bit. I have imported Kontakt into ESC and converted to SF2 and sfz formats and they sound fine. I have also converted SF2, sfz, Halion, giga, akai into Kontakt 2 format with no audible problems.

It's possible to load the Kontakt2 VSL library into ESC albeit with a few constraints.
1. Xfade instruments only have 1 sample loaded per zone as the fade between velocity zones is intrinsic to Kontakt.
2. Alternating instruments (stoccato) that flip between 2 different samples to stop the machine-gun effect will only load one of those samples in ESC.

Thanks guys...I often wondered about how ESC handled 'round robin' samples. The main reason I asked is because there are so many soundsets available for Kontakt 2, but I prefer working with other samplers.

I should mention that Translator converts Kontakt 1 and 2 round robin instruments into any Round-Robin capable destination (EXS24, Giga, EmulatorX, SFZ, Reason, a couple others) flawlessly. If the destination isn't RR-capable, you can convert both states and play them as separate instruments.
It also goes further and supports converting out of K2 monolith format, plus it will convert a folder of Kontakt instruments into one Bank (like one .gig file or one EmulatorX .exb).
Just thought I'd mention it, forgive my insertion.

My main tools: Kontakt, Omnisphere, Samplemodeling + Audio Modeling. Unify = godsend. Tari's libraries also rock.
