Hi

I recently bought a Novation BassStation second hand. Everything is fine except the panel being a bit loose. I suspect that it has to do with a screw on the side of the panel which also seems loose. Unfortunately i have never seen this kind of screw before - they're hollow with a notch in the thread!? - so i thought that some of you might be able to help me? This is the screws and the loose panel:

you can click the pictures to view them as large ones. BTW the battery is just to add some sense of scale  .

Thanks in advance for your help - it's much appreciated!

That isn't a screw. It's a threaded brass bush. The screw that's meant to be in there is missing.

Are you sure there's not a screw that goes in that, causing it to expand slightly, thus tightening? Reason Im asking is that seems to have a thread in it.

it could very well be. i just thought different because the eventual screw needed is missing on the other side too, where the panel isn't loose.

arent those for attaching to a stand? I'm sure some of these things aren't screwed together, they just kinda 'clip' together, or the screws are hidden under the soft pads.

Nah it's a one way jobby. The slot allows for expansion to hold the bolt secure so it doesn't need a nut. I've used hundreds of the little bastards to hold drive units into baffles. They look like this in the raw...

Trust me, lob the correct size cap head bolt in there and all will be ok
