some sort of patch management ala kore/cubase would indeed be handy

Which is an intersting question, as its - since ages - a discussion if the HOST or the plugin should organize these. We tend to say its our task, the instruments task. How do you feel ?

It would be easier if the host would allow to associate metadata with patches. This way you can organize and search the patches for all your instruments and effects. But it still has to be done in a usable and reliable way, and all hosts has to support it, prefarably in a compatible fashion, so that patches for a single instrument are still exchangable amongst all hosts. I fear this is nothing but dreaming here ... It is up to the plug-in makers to do the first step, I think.

It is not the first time I whish I could store some additional information with the patch. Creator name, creation date, modification date and some space for notes came to mind. And of course the ability to serach for these data. I don't fancy something like Kore, but it surely wouldn't hurt either. ;-)

...since I use Kore I don't care that much about synths without a preset categoration system any longer (and the majority of synths doesn't have one). However, before such browsing opportunities from companies like NI, Steinberg & Virsyn were available, I found LinPlug's Preset system the easiest and most efficient one available (and in fact, it still is). Having all presets seperately in dedicated folders is very useful. You can work on an OS level to assort your presets - still easy, yet effective. Regarding a dedicated categorisation system I must admit that the Kore system is a really clever and helpful system. If this isn't some sortof copy- righted, I'd say you should just adopt it, if you considering something similar...

if you have to wait for hosts to implement it (correctly) you can wait till kingdom come it seems. Cubase seems to have made a reasonable attempt but that's it so far.

Phaser and chorus rate sync option.

Is it possible to make spread function to have free-run option? In case I have short attack and don't want to hear that punch of dry sound at the beginning.

Oh. Forgot to tell about wet/dry knob on Lo-Fi effect.

Maybe a ducking for the delays (based on audio level).

Ability to set mod-wheel to step length in arpeggio. Delay rate sync option.

Post

Portamento mode for arp. Actually this could be implemented in all synths.

Jeesus. Everytime I type I try to think as many times as I can if it was all that I wanted to say. Anyhow when I am closing this thread couple more ideas hit me right away. Sorry! Don't ban me please  Here we go. Sync value to appear in the freq display of the lfo for example. Something like when you click on sync window you can see only 2 option on and off. Then while turning freq knob the sync values appear in that freq monitor in speed order. This could save us from opening this row with all possible sync's :)

Bigger buttons for the tabs, like the different lfo, osc, or envelope buttons. They're tiny.

One thing I really don't like is how the tie on the sequencer is just after the max level. I think a right click would be much better. It's just annoying when you want to quickly go to max, and you have to pull it down just one increment, can be tricky with a trackpad.

Sample rate knob for Lo-Fi effect.

Post

Reverb time parameter for reverb. To have them both room size and time.
