sup peeps...
kinda new here [well not 'new', but i never posted before], so forgive my ignorance if this has been discussed already. i tried using the search, but it didn't seem to nail down what i'm looking for...
i'm using ableton live [5/6] on osx [10.3.9 & 10.4.9] and i am looking to find a guitar/midi synth plug in, that is pretty flexible and cost effective...
i originally had written a guitar line in a tune using a demo of sample tank, which had a pretty nice guitar patch, so i was able to use my Oxy8 to record and practice, until it locked me out...
now, while it was great, i'm in no position [atm] to drop about $600 for sample tank...
so i'm looking for something a little less in price, but also anything that will give me more dynamic range, focused on guitar emulation...
i found the SLAYER2 which seemed very interesting, although it dosn't seem to run on my mac intel [osx 10.4.9] and while it looks like they are trying to get it to run correctly, i don't see/read about any sort of update, that has it running on a mac intel...
i also tried to see if any of THESE would work on my mac intel, although i didn't seem to have much luck, as most were either not made for oxs and/or just way too expensive, for me to just "try out"...
so can any of you guys out there point me in the right direction, suggest synths, plug-ins, etc. that you think would suit my needs?
any and all help is greatly appreciated...

Well, I hear MusicLab RealGuitar is quite good in terms of realistic guitar. (It's a sample library)
Keep your eyes peeled for their followup, RealStrat (electric guitar, dry sampled of course so you will probably need some kind of amp plugin of sorts.)

You could search the database on this site:
http://www.kvraudio.com/get.php?mode=re ... t=1&rpp=30
This is filtered by guitar and OSX.
Even if you don't get the sound you want out of the instrument, there are plenty of processing FX available to tweak it.

may be slightly different, but it is arpeggiator which is usable for making of a guitar line track.

In the free section I'd certainly give Sampletank Free's strat a go, plus the strat that is part of Plugsound Free. Last place I guess where that one can be downloaded:
http://www.music-boss.com/freeware_plug ... gsound.htm (bottom of page)
And then there are always 1 or 2 pretty good guitar soundfonts around, to be loaded in the free SFZ or Fretted Synth's new SafFron.
Good free plugins for guitar: Voxengo Boogex (will load cabinet impulses), SimulAnalog Guitar Suite, RubyTube...

Probably is a sample of this page a sound of SLAYER2?
