But my main point is: I think focus should be on bringing the functionality of XT1 to XT2 first. I imagine that's going to mean quite a change for things like the Live arrangements. But new stuff, like the drum tracks, doesn't make THIS selfish, ungrateful musician any happier.
the new lice stuff will be very different to v1.4

I'm pretty sure that I have used MIDI plugs inside the Comp view in E-XT 2. Maybe I didn't and it was all a dream.

Shift-click to resize a clip AND contents.

Last time I checked VST midi wasn't working in XT2 at all. I don't know if a recent beta cured that in the comps view - if so that's cool - I'll check it out tonight.

I think that it's awesome that this element will get more attention!

A couple of mixer related ideas I would like to see in XT2

(1) Allow us to hide or "fold" unused outputs of a multi-out vst.
(2) Just now only the first output of a multi-out vst is connected by default. I would like to be able to change that (perhaps even on a plugin-by-plugin basis) to 2,3,4,whatever outputs enabled by default.

Example of (1) = Sampletank can fill my mixer screen, even though I'm only using one output. This behaviour dramatically reduces the usefulness of the mixer as soon as a multi-out plugin is loaded. Bah !
Example of (2) = Luxonix Ravity (Drum) routes sounds to all of it's outputs by default, so I would like XT2 to connect all of it's outputs by default. Sampletank , on the other hand, loads up with no instruments and no routing, so I would like XT2to connect only it's first output, on the assumption that I will use it for one sound. Even just a little text config file that says:

Code: Select all

Sampletank.dll 1
Ravity.dll 6
Kontakt.dll 2

Growing to love XT2 with each and every update, Jorgen :-)

I have also problems with MIDI VST plugs. For example: tobybear Arpimedes get out of sync and if i press stop on the sequenser, the tobybear Arpimedes keeps on running somtimes. Dunno know if this is a EXT2 issue or if it's an Arpimedes issue.

this has been brought up so many times now it's not funny anymore.

(as it is now the mixer is pretty much unusable with just two 8outs-VSTIs)
(2) Just now only the first output of a multi-out vst is connected by default. I would like to be able to change that (perhaps even on a plugin-by-plugin basis) to 2,3,4,whatever outputs enabled by default.

good one as well! :)

I think the best thing would be if for every instance of the mixer (not possible atm) one would be able to select (like a menu with checkboxes) which channels will be shown. This way one could have different mixers for different things(instruments, drum mix ...) AND one would be able to hide unnecessary multiouts.

My number one FR for eXT2 is non-destructive splitting of midi parts.

I also hope that Jorgen takes a peek at how Sonar uses alt-dragging to
select a "section within parts". I've found this to be a very convenient way
to make a copy of a small region...just select and drag to the new location.

These features together with the already powerful piano roll, would make eXT a
great host for midi editing!

guess M1 meant to glue the parts. If this is the case, I mean it, too... +1.
Still another thing is, that you can't hear anything while placing notes in the part editor.
E.g. using drumsets, it can get a little bit frustrating to click on the piano roll
everytime you want to listen to the sample you are about to place.Would be nice to
have a little checkbox in the midi editor options, or that round speaker button from XT1.

But anyway, nice progress. I am very happy with the keeping notelength and velocity function
recently implemented, would be nice (but not neccessary) having the ability to turn it off, though.
