If the Soldano was one of my all-time fave amps, I'd jump on it in an instant, but it's not even in my top 5. Doesn't mean I'm not hella curious.

$21 is like... 1 set of strings here, well, with a few buck left over. Man we get shafted here.

I understand your reaction Sascha, but I used the verb "try" on purpose, because realism put aside, I'm not even sure I could use a Soldano sound. Like Lunch Money said, I'm just curious about that emu, that's all.Sascha Franck wrote:Given the quality of the other SimulAnalog things, you find 8 pounds to be a stretch for a proper Soldano emulation?!? I mean, come on, you gotta be joking!cheul wrote:Geez you have to pay 8 pounds to get that issue in Europe ? A bit of a strecth if the soldano emu is all you wanna try...
Now if Overloud releases a new product, there will hopefully be a demo of their new amps, we'll just have to be patient. I know I am.

Personally, I remember a few amps that *really* had me impressed a lot. A Soldano top has been among the top three. Absolutely gorgeous riff sound, killer screaming leads, most fantastic dynamics. So I simply just need to get my hands on this sim. If it's even halfway as good as the SimulAnalog JCM it will probably become a major part of what's going to be my new PC-based live rig.

And nobody is able to do a review of this new amp sim from Simulanalog ?

Go to the CM website and inquire about buying the mag - I doubt that they would turn away the business. I wish I could help with a review but I haven't tried it yet and have no idea how the real X-88 sounds. Maybe this weekend.

You're doing a PC-based "live" rig?
Do tell what it consists of - laptop? Sound card? Amp sims? Footswitches to control too? Or sound switching through the PC's MIDI?
This sounds really cool and the possiblities REALLY open up some creative performance things here...
Also - how are you going to try to combat BSOD's?
Thank you for anything in this regard!
