Just having a look at the Zero- G downloadable samples. Anyone have any opinions on these?
1. Orchestral Flavours (WAV)
2. String Textures (WAV)
3. Woodwind & Brass (WAV)
4. Vintage Keyboards (WAV)
Thanks!

I bought the the WoodWind&Brass some years ago and don't find it too useful (let me check how much dust is on that cd
). May be ok for some of that simple, unisono brass throw-ins here and there, but not for a more or less realistic sounding brass lick/riff.
Oh, don't know about the "woodwinds", never worked with them....

Great! That and the keyboards are the ones I was most interested in!AKJ wrote:the orchestral flavours are very good if you need orchestral phrases (I think it was done by siedlaczek), but I doubt that the other stuff is of the same quality

Confirmed. It is great and a bargain at 15 bucks! Anyone know of anything else on the Zero G download site worth checking out while they are running this 20% off sale?AKJ wrote:the orchestral flavours are very good if you need orchestral phrases (I think it was done by siedlaczek)

Thanks so much for the info!!! Anyone know anything about the SFX stuff - Altered States, Cuckooland, Skinned?
I don't make industrial music, but I'm lacking in good background FX for tracks.

if you go to Sonomic, you can hear individual samples from most of the libraries....and they are running the sale as well.

I've never used Sonomic before. Are they a pretty reputable dealer?

Yeah, I've used them before with no problems. Zero-g supports them and PowerFX (who is also running the same sale). That might be why there are links to both of those sites on Zero-g's websiteMurahachibu wrote:I've never used Sonomic before. Are they a pretty reputable dealer?

Transmission X is a Samplemagic product, not a Zero G product. As such it can be found on the Sonomic website and the Powerfx website, but not on Zero G's download site. And to be quite frank Morphology has some nice material, but I found Transmission X to be a disappointment. Many of those sounds are pretty much noisy textures that most anyone could create with a handful of samples and a half-dozen or so FSU VST plug-ins. If pay close attention, You'll even find that many samples are the same, just processed differently...such as that "oh, oh yeah, uh-hu" etc. voice seemingly ripped from porn that Ian used for at least 6 or 7 samples and f*cked up in different ways.Collusion wrote:The Morphology and Transmission-X libraries by Ian Boddy.Murahachibu wrote:Anyone know of anything else on the Zero G download site worth checking out while they are running this 20% off sale?
P.S. - the sale is long gone....
