ttoz, I'm on Win XP/SP1 here. I'll give both your methods a shot and report back later with the results.

The only reason I got into thinking the Rhino keyboard shortcut problems were a limitation of Logic's VST implementation is that I have the same trouble with keyboard shortcuts and other developer's plugins in Logic. I don't have any NI plugs, so I don't have any other means of comparison other than the fact that the keyboard shortcuts work fine in my other hosts - AudioMulch, FL Studio 4.1 and Sonar 2.2 (via DirectiXer and Cake's VST/DX Adapter). You never know, it could be that NI found a way to circumvent Logic's grabbing the keyboard for it's own purposes... always a possibility.

To me Rhino is Absynth's buddy, same realms and complementary ...
FM7, if kicked hard in the ass can be part of the gang too ...

But I wouldn't use any of them for pure saws and squares nasty jobs !

now reopen logic and insert a rhino..instant crash..the way out is to delete the rhino tmp file and logic's config file and start again..what is happening is, that rhino is trying to load the preset that caused logic to crash...
Bingo! Yep, that happens here. Takes a couple of attempts to get it to happen, but it does eventually go bang. It seems to be when I do this with Rhino's GUI open, not to say it won't without it though, probably just needs a bit more of a kicking for this to happen.

'Tick, I've got the Dr. Watson report for this if it'll help trace the problem.
METHOD 2 Open rhino in any other host besides logic...play with electroloops bank till your hearts content..there will likely be no problems..close that host...open logic...try to load rhino..instant crash..again because that electroloops bank is the last thing rhino remembers and it is trying to open within logic and it just wont happen.
Heh, I rebooted after the above Logic crash and then opened Rhino in Sonar using the Cake VST/DX Adapter. Went bang after a couple of notes! :o

Again, I've got the Dr. Watson report, if it'll help 'Tick.

Both crashes are Access Violations according to the reports.

OK ttoz,

I hope I've fixed it. Let me email you a new build and see if it does the trick for you.

Well I found the source of the occasional buzzing. It's due to the preset programming (I guess I should blame Daniel, but, hey, he spent more time programming the presets than reading the manual - and besides, I'll never thank him enough for cooking these marvelous sounds). Anyway, the doc says: "never use effects parallel mode if one of the effects is disabled" which is what was *not* done on some presets - hence the nasty buzz (and, as a side-effect, increased cpu usage).

To fix the problem, just set effects to serial mode and save the bank again. That should do it.

In the computer business we call this an RTFM error (-: and yes, I've committed it more than once.
