Anyone here tried inserting EXT1 as a VST in EXT2 and using EXT1 with EXT2? Just a thought....

Yeah I tried that. I wasn't impressed with the solution.
I can't remember completely was ticked me off about it - but I've been struggling to make eXT1 a sequencing solution in slightly less capable hosts: XT2 and REAPER and coming up a bit short.
In truth - it's a while since I tried eXT1 inside XT2 so maybe it's a little better now.

Caleb

What you guys think of a feature that allows in the piano roll to select a single note and choose to play a chord based on that note?
For instance I could make a part, quickly insert some single notes and for each one choose a different chord. In that way it would be really easy to try out different chord progressions. It might include options for arpeggios or strumming. I got this idea playing a bit with the chordspace playa demo in which it's possible to choose a different chord for each key.
Dunno if it's been raised before or if it's possible already in some way, I bought the program today and I'm still not very familiar with it, just thought it would be neat.
cheers

Just to add to this, I decided to start an XT2 project using XT1 embedded - not going too badly for the moment. I'll see if the experience is better than last time.Caleb wrote:Yeah I tried that. I wasn't impressed with the solution.

i did, too ... but i am still not satisfied with the skin-operators, though they are better than none ...Caleb wrote:Just to add to this, I decided to start an XT2 project using XT1 embedded - not going too badly for the moment. There are VST midi effects that will do just that. Matter of fact, Cubase 4 has one just cant remember the name of it right off the top of my headfrz wrote:What you guys think of a feature that allows in the piano roll to select a single note and choose to play a chord based on that note?

I would rather not see the feature built in but included as a midi vst. But thats just me

HI
+1 for both the 'Glue' and 'folding unused outputs of a multi-out vst'.

I think my plugins are great but really this would be a PIA to do with a plugin. I think what he wants to do is take a lead and turn each note into a differnet chord/inversion. Plugins would be great if you want each note to be teh same chord but if each note is a differnt chord (7th, minor, major, inverted, etc.) even automating with the awesome chord space is a pain.Stargard wrote:shame on you. you don't know NicFit's and Soma's plugs? that's blasphemicfrz wrote:What you guys think of a feature that allows in the piano roll to select a single note and choose to play a chord based on that note?
That said,
If Jorgen gave us an SDK for the composer , :wink wink: I would love to write such a feature.

yep that's exactly what I meant. I bet there are a lot of more urgent features that must be implemented, it was just something I thought would be cool to have someday or another..soma wrote:I think my plugins are great but really this would be a PIA to do with a plugin. That said,, it would be very cool to have this as a feature but maybe after more inportant parts have been added.
