Any kind of auto-mapping to 1 and more controlers with midi feedback could be one of the most important features of EXT2. For production or live music its the way to go and the future of audio software. total simbiose between the software and the hardware, mo mater what brand you choose

Reason manages it with its native Korg Microkontrol support, so I guess you could ask around to see if anyone knows how to implement itjorgen wrote:can you control the function (text) displays with sysex?but Im on a Korg Kontrol49
btw, im all for generic support

Ahh. Google for the file microKONTROL_MIDI.pdf which contains all the specs on Native Mode. Looks formidable but certainly doable to implement.
If energyXT had some kind of generic hook that 3rd parties could write control surface plugins for, it would make a good Winter project for me or someone else. Like theres not enough feature requests already.
You are not a beautiful snowflake.

This could be solved trivially if a vst could be docked to more than one page at a time. In fact, it would also allow for more than one cc-map per instrument (assuming that each dock page has its ownn cc-map), surely a boon for devices with a small number of knobs, eg, Oxygen-8. For instance, you could have one page for each oscillator (or two, if you have enough knobs), one for a filter and its corresponding EG, etc.soma wrote:Of course this would work best if control is directed to single GUI at a time....Anyone got an idea like this that would work for a whole dock?

double bump.
start on page 2; that is where the ideas start to adapt to any midi controller.

Triple Bump, despite fearing none of these old ideas will ever be implemented.
I recently got an sl, and while wrapped plugins work like a charm, being able to control the transport/mixer would be a massive boon.
Ofcourse, I realise this has even less of a chance to show up in xt1 (my preferred xt), so just bring xt2 up to the level of xt1 before you implement this and I'll be happy.
