Just want to say that RME does another great step forward by releasing this new driver:
Now at 0.7ms (700ns) latency !!

I just want to let you know my problems, when I updated my Multiface from the last 2.94(4) to 3.02:
After firmware upgrade of the card and installation of the new driver, I saw  : No MIDI-Port available anymore, although WinXP said that Multiface MIDI is correctly installed. Also the LEDs of the RME box indicates no error. Audio worked properly.
It tooks me 2 hours to solve the problem: The windows service called "Windows Audio" (To verify: Start->Run->msconfig) was switched off (by the installation or by me in the past, I don't know).
After switching it on again, all works correctly.
I just want to let you know this, if anyone other runs into that problem.

That's a buffer sized at 64 samples at 96khz I presume? And how dows that perform on a fully loaded project?
We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated. Image
My MusicCalc is served over https!!

no that's the 32 sample setting at 44.1khz.

not well. quite obviously. :hihi: massive overhead required - as expected.

I've been using that driver since an early beta and it's a great improvement over the 2.x series. Multimedia stuff is now usable, and there's a great optimisation in terms of CPU usage at low latencies (effective at roughly 64-512 samples).

I have no performance problems on my projects, but you can read this review ïn cubase.net from another user (that's the place where I heard from the new driver first):

Another good one: Quicktime Player in iTunes (iPod Software) works the first time correctly on my system.

A commercial for RME wouldn't be more effective than this rave. Great post from an RME saleman.

FYI: Today I found info and solution to these problems on RME's Tech Info:
