Thats funny
:-} Well, the idea is "here's what I remember and I hope it's helpful... but if someone else tells you I've got it wrong, they probably are right."

Post

Well, well, I think I got the idea.
Is there something else that I can use to create my own drum loop, using a pattern seq. and rendering it to wave, could be also standalone. Just want to have something to play and experiment around with, randomise the steps and so one, hm?????????????

a)Rebirth does IMHO the 808/909/303 thing very well
b)It can be rewired. I'm sure I did with Tracktion
c)It can render wavs
d)Drum patterns can be programmed using the PC keyboard IIRC too
e) there were some obscure utilities that could be used to transfer midi patterns to the 303s
f) it has also something like a step-sequenced filter. big fun!

what else do you want? Yeah I know Rewire is a PITA. I wish there was a VSTi version

Reason, Fruityloops, Orion, Trackers (buzz, psycle etc), shit even more traditional sequencers like SX, Logic & Sonar can be used.

I would recomend you look at Fruityloops first as this is probably exactly what your looking for.
No, that Glitch is meant to be there.....

Ok I got it,
I test this Rebirth thing.

Thanks to all.

Lol ew, I wondered that too :hihi:

As far as Rebirth goes there is a couple of things to remember :-

1. The devices are designed to sound AND function like the original units they are emulating. Clunky to one is familiar to others esp if they used the originals

2. Its old software and things move on. (Hence it being free now) It might seem limited these days to what it does but when I bought it, my Pentium 233 was almost top of the range speed wise and Rebirth ran very well on it.

Oh and it definately does Rewire to any rewire host. Its not a rewire host in itself though (always the slave  )

It's still fun to use every once in a while. All the "instruments" (including drums) on this are Rebirth; everything else is NN-XT.

If you can get your hands on M-Audio's Drum & Bass Rig, the BL-6 Bassline is very very nice. No really, it is.
