You know when you sweep a Highpass Filter all the way to the right, how the bass goes first, then it filters down to the snares and all to the way until you can't hear anything?
Well, I've heard this done with either part of a track or to the whole thing. My question is, how? Which VSTs are used for something like this? Do you use a EQ that's able to be written via Cubase? Just kind of a sweep and 'Write' type thing?
Thanks!

any highpass filter will do this. you just need to stick it on the track or channel where the sound you want to effect is at. if you want to effect the whole mix, you stick it in your master channel (which is the channel that plays the whole mix). then you just automate the filter cut off of the highpass.
