the rules are going to be "very" slightly modified from last year's. we were hoping to get it started by the end of march, but it took a bit longer than we anticipated to set up. the competition will be ~4 months long. that's all i can say for now. :)

I am too lazy to compete but I have plenty of ideas for the rules :
- no oscillators
- no synthedit
- no synthmaker
- no VCO's
- no LFO's
- no samples
- no glitch
- no theory
- no FM nor AM
- no wavetables
- no EQ
- no Compressors
- no built-in FXs
- no grid
- no host
- no sequencer
- no YAY
- no drums
- no bass
- no analogthingies
- no grain
- no emulation
- no presets

THAT will be creative indeed. :)
You can't always get what you waaaant...

In other words:

One of my ideas actually confirms to ALL of those rules. :hyper:

Not quite sure if it will be possible to make inside 4 months though...

Do we have to "enter" the contest or can we just send in the submission at the due date when we're done? Cuz I won't know if I'm entering UNTIL I'm done. ;)

I'd like to do an entry, but it's emergency fight for survival time here at AQ, not going to be a fun summer. Also having trouble deciding which of several ideas would be a good one to give away. I have some piddly little products coming (MIDI utilities, etc) that aren't worthy. And some revolutionary ideas that will NOT be free products. I need to think up something inbetween. (Any requests? :) )

Post

you don't have to sign up to join. i started this thread just to see who and how many people would be interested in joining. :) so basically you're officially a part of it when you submit an entry.

Cool, that's what I thought. Thanks!

Maybe we should have a teaser thread again, where devs can tease either with partial descriptions, partial images, or audio demos :D
Cakewalk by Bandlab / FL Studio
Squire Stratocaster / Chapman ML3 Modern V2 / Fender Precision Bass

Formerly known as arke, VladimirDimitrievich, bslf, and ctmg. Yep, those bans were deserved.

That thread should be the Entry plans thread imho
