FREE wav to Akai convertor???

got a friend with an mpc....he wants to get wav files into it...any FREE convertors out there, or even cheap ones?? preferably free though...'

I think creating akai formatted sample-CDs can only be done by AKAI themselves (or with akai exclusive tools). I've never heard of a homemade AKAI CD.
Does this MPC have SCSI? I think this would be the usual route to get something into there.

Using Chicken Systems Translator software (FREE version here - http://www.chickensys.com/products/sw_i ... lator+Free ), you can create a virtual Akai drive on your PC, then burn the created image to CD.

kpd is correct. I still burn my own Akai cd's. I use VSampler soft sampler which loads and plays that format better than any other sampler that I have found. The old S1000/3000 format is still the fastest way to audition samples.
